The sloppiness continues lol

Agree on the Contreras play, but Abreu demonstrated once again why he is the best defensive right fielder in MLB today.   Rafaela going for 3b was another mistake, but born of the need to tie the game at 1-1.  With him on 3d and 1 out, the Sox have 2 shots at bringing him home.

Guerrero and Contreras costing the Sox the game. But the offense has to produce more than one run. They have been pathetic in this series.

The offense produced 4 runs and had the tying run at the plate in the 9th inning.  The surprise in this series is the Jays scoring 13 runs in 3 games.  They are ranked 29th in MLB in runs scored.

Not that little.  35 games with the best W-L record in MLB history.  They went from the outhouse to just outside the penthouse.

And what's this "we" stuff?  You go out of your way to see the downside.

Hey-it sure was fun being delusional wasn’t it? But now we know that this team is the team we saw for the first three months. BresLOW shouldn’t have traded away those prospects for these losers

Contreras made a boneheaded play and Rafaela’s blunder was just plain stupid. Another baserunning mistake added to last night’s stupid mistake.

Is Suarez on some sort of 80 pitch limit?

He hasn't gone over 81 pitches since June, when he went 90+ in 7 straight starts.

He was injured and is working his way back probably?

Its not basketball.  All that matters is who is hot.  We can get hot again, I wouldnt like bet on us getting as hot as we were, but a cooldown right about now isnt a bad thing. Dont want to peak too early.

A baseball team is nothing.  Teams will be the worst in baseball in one month and the best next.

I wouldn’t bet on us being more than a .500 team the rest of the way. For most of the year we sucked. Then for 35 games everyone got hot all at once. The question is, are we the team that sucked or the best team in baseball that we were for 35 games-or somewhere in the middle. I think somewhere around .500 is about right. If BresLOW had done his job over the winter we wouldn’t have sucked for three months most likely.

thats not how baseball works.  Hot teams beat good teams.

Doesnt matter what our default level is.  IF we get as hot as we did, we'll win the world series.  We could easily go ice cold.  But baseball is so freaking streaky.

Its not like basketball where the best teams tend to make it to the end.

You need a certain level of talent on the roster to get hot. I don’t remember the Royals getting particularly hot. And with more talented players the chances of winning increase. Another good bat or two from the start of the season and we could be competing for a ring instead of a wc.

In baseball the team that you are , means the team that you are that day.  Its not like a we'll fall back to our level. At least not in playoffs.  Maybe over 162.  But once you are in, its about being hot, not necessarily about "who are you really?"

The Royals got hot in 2015.

I dont mean to imply that more stars wouldnt help our chances, im just saying that especially in baseball, mediocre teams can get hot and run the table.

There doesn't seem to be any steps upward.
