I do agree we came up at least one move short- the big bat we needed sorely.

By trade or signing, we needed one more big move.

In hindsight, add Duran or Bello to what we gave up for Oviedo and maybe we could have gotten BLowe or Donovan (and hoped that Donovan stayed healthy.) The signing part would have been trickier.

Didn’t DD do exactly that with a 20 year old Devers in 2017?

He pivoted to Ranger after he botched the Bregman negotiations, and didn’t get another so called big bat.
