AL Records since June 30th...

Why 6/30? Because it looks good for the Sox: that's why! (And, the Yanks look bad, too!)

28-15 BOS

29-16 TOR

27-17 KCR

25-18 ATH (We still have 6 with them!)

25-20 SEA

24-20 CLE

23-21 BAL & DET

22-23 TEX

21-23 NYY

20-24 HOU

18-25 MIN

17-26 CWS

14-30 TBR

How about since July 26th? (More cherry-picking)

16-8 DET

16-9 KCR

15-8 ATH

14-9 BOS

14-10 BAL

13-11 CLE, NYY, SEA

12-12 TOR

10-14 HOU

Here is a bad one for some "balance:" Since 8/6

10-4 DET & KCR

9-4 NYY

9-5 ATH

8-5 BAL

7-6 TOR

7-7 SEA

6-7 CLE & LAA

6-8 HOU

5-8 BOS

5-9 MIN

5-8 TBR

3-11 TEX & CWS

Sorry Brock, I don't predict much of anything when it comes to major league baseball, the most random entity in the sports world.  All I do is watch and hope.

I think the Red Sox and the Yankees are pretty well evenly matched, and I think they are both a good bit better than the other wildcard contenders.  On paper, I think it's a toss up between the two teams.

Of course, we all know that baseball is not played on paper.  Both teams could end up getting ousted from the wildcard spots.  Or one of them could still win the division.

My gut tells me that the Yankees and the Red Sox will earn the 1st and 2nd wildcard spots, respectively.  My gut as near zero credibility when it comes to baseball.

If the Yanks did not play the Sox, this year, they'd be in the driver's seat and contending for the AL East crown. Take away the 8-2 record by the Sox over the Yanks, and we are on the outside looking in on the WC race.

I know many teams can say the same about a certain team (or two,) but the fact that the Sox have done so well vs the Yanks, makes this season even more enjoyable.

Didn't I hear that the Yankees schedule is insanely easy the rest of the way?

They have one tough stretch to start September:

3 @ HOU, 3 v TOR, 3 V DET & 3 @BOS

The rest looks pretty easy, but BAL is playing better than their record:

7 v BAL

7 v CWS

3 v WSH

3 @ MN

If I had to pick one team for the Red Sox to dominate, it would be the Yankees.

Got that right, and the way the Rays used to have our number, I like beating them too.

TOR is in first, so I'd swap TBR w TOR, if I could, but ys on the Yanks!
