I sure hope Cora and his staff are not suggesting tonight will be a piece of cake.

Cora's too busy asking himself will Bailey Falter ordering Dustin May to throw more sweepers.

The Red Sox are basically gonna draw the Royals' all-deadline rotation this week. First up: Bailey Falter.

How come Falter does not show up on MLB stat line for KC?

I believe it's because he pitched for the Pirates prior, and stats technically don't transfer over to the other league (NL to AL) mid-season. They may have that changed how that works, though.

It depends on the source.  mlb.com combines the stats (brings the old ones forward).  espn does not.

The last couple of times the Sox faced a lefty starter Cora loaded up with 7 righty bats, including Toro.  The two lefty bats are in LF and RF and are a mix of Duran, Abreu, and Anthony.

Let's see how the crowd is on a Monday night against the Royals.

I've just heard that Mayer will have season ending surgery on his wrist. Interesting that Mayer is 3 at bats away from the Sox losing one year of control.

Interesting, but medically sound.  Mayer took himself out and talked to many doctors about a short term fix, including a shot he took over the weekend.

Based on all his injuries and difficulty with MLB pitching, I'm not sure the Sox are worried about insuring another year of control.

that can't be right....MLB season is 187 days. He needs to be on the active or injured list for 172 day. His first at bat was on May 24th. The season had already elapsed 30+days.

He was not going to lose anything unless he won the Rookie of the Year or top 3 in MVP (that one I am guessing).

You maybe getting confused with 'his rookie season was official with 3 more bats". He'll be considered a rookie again next year.

I'm just repeating what I heard on Monster Territory. They're usually pretty accurate. Thanks for the explanation.

7 righty bats in Sox lineup against lefty starter.  Two lefty bats are Duran and Anthony.  KC going with 5 lefty bats against Bello.

Hopefully surgery will fix the problem. By no means is that guaranteed

Is Toronto's Bichette the most underrated player in the AL?

Never heard of him.

Last season, I thought he was overrated.

Call it even.

I lied.  Everyone's heard of Bichette.

Looked like back discomfort.

Cora pulled Chapman when that happened and he came right back.
