Abreu isn’t as bad and might be salvageable. Rafaela should be dumped like JBJ was.

The young guys needed to learn what a 162 game season is like. They are basically done but hopefully got that much out of this train wreck season.

That said, I don't see how the Sox can depend on Story staying in the lineup in 2025 and so much of the hope for 2025 appears to depend on Story.

A 1 hit shutout, no walks.  WTF, these guys have a new trick up their sleeves every  game.   Lose a series where they scored 5 runs in 3 games.

Checked out fully  .  Can't wait for the happy horsecrap in the Spring on how the kids are getting better and we got Sale back

The kids should be better.  The really rough September the kids had may actually help that.  The sophomore slump happens when kids think they know what they’re doing.  This September should serve as a reminder to them that they don’t, and hopefully accelerate the last bit of development.

Not buying "checked out" because that implies volition.  I think the Sox hitters are more than willing to hit the ball.  Their problem is lousy preparation.  Two best examples are Abreu and Rafaela, neither of whom has made any correction to his approach at the plate.  Same goes for Devers, who probably is playing hurt (shoulders)--no adjustments to his approach at the plate.   In any case, the Sox rank 3d in MLB in most K's by a team.

The last I'd heard the SOX were 2nd in most K's. Who the hell passed them? I mean it wasn't like the SOX were laying down.

Which game gets rained out?

I’d vote for a triple rainout.

luckily, unless I remember to VPN my TV to Atlanta, Buffalo or some other place out of the Midwest, I’ll be blacked out.  The Twins are one of my 6 blackout teams.

Well, you're more than welcome to stop at my place to watch those 3 'important' games.

They’ve been behind Seattle all year, The Mariners have around 70 more than the Red Sox.  The Rockies have more as well.

So 2nd in the AL and 3rd in MLB, which is probably where they will finish as the “race” isn’t particularly close in either direction.

Thanks for the info. I'm really disappointed.

Thanks, but I’m probably going to watch the grass grow all 3 days.  It might rain here Sunday, so that should be particularly enjoyable.

But seriously, I believe that Seattle would be a good trading partner regarding Masa.

He could be the Japanese version of Edgar Martinez. Maybe not that good, but you get the idea.

I have a lawn care service that sprays some sort of steroids on my lawn, so I actually can see the grass grow, even while I'm mowing it.

They are choosing to not prep= checking out.
