Anderson vs McKenzie(RH)

Obviously, I don't know if the SOX are gonna win or lose today, but I do know that this Guardians' team is not as good as their record.

Hopefully, the SOX can again today bring Cleveland closer to where they should actually belong.

Go SOX!

Breslow was interviewed earlier this morning on WEEI and asked about the slew of SOX injuries. His respnse was "this is a resilient group and injuries seem to spike early in the season."

That was it. Thanks Craig, that should make SOX fans feel a whole lot better.

Chase Anderson! The big dog!

I got a kick out of this line from his wikipedia entry: "This consistent pitching approach has caused Anderson trouble, as his propensity for throwing fastballs down the middle of the plate has led to too many home runs by opposing batters." He led the league in HR's allowed in 2018, but has been lucky so far with the Sox.

If he said what he was really thinking, it'd be at the 600 course level and probably over most of our heads.

Standard interview non-answer. I would have been surprised if he gave anything else...

"Yeah, well, we, uh, have been trying some new things and the extra velo and spin rate directly correlates to the injuries we are seeing now."

"But it's definitely not the pitch clock. It's related to velocity and arm angles, as they causing all the injuries. Those are the two factors we have identified. Also, the pitch clock. That's the real culprit."

Not if you can get to that game!!

Even though I am off this week, I have a CPE webinar at 1. Gotta keep that CPA license in Massachusetts even though I probably won't be moving back any time soon!

Once the pitcher gets past Abreu, the closest thing to an obstacle in the next 5 slots is Reese McGuire...

Thunder should never have revealed his W/L record at SOX games. It will haunt him until he's present at a loss.

And the Sox are 4-5 in Hamilton starts. They're 0-3 if he comes into a game in which he is not starting, so Cora dodged that bullet today...

Brez is still evaluating, but over time the right profile -- the right thought partner -- will avail itself.

He knows that part of building a consistent winner at the major league level is making really bold, difficult decisions -- and some of those include favorite players and some of those include leveraging prospect capital to enhance the major league team.

But he also knows that they have some needs to fill on their roster and there are multiple ways to get there. His job is to take as comprehensive a look as he can at all possible paths. In the meantime, the idea of deploying players in a way that maximizes possible outcomes by creating the most positive matchups that they can is a term that he calls optimization -- and that includes synthesizing analytical information with real-time feedback from players and coaches to make sure not to leave wins on the table.

Craig said he was given a very, very clear, unwavering commitment to winning from ownership... and that the front office will search all corners, overturn every stone, and unearth every option.

Well I am probably safe until 2025, unless I decide to go to Cincinnati in June.

That's a pretty long bridge from Abreu to McGuire. Let's all hope it's not a bridge too far.

Well, I guess we can consider Thunder out for the season, also.

Hey, if you're offering to fund my travels, I would happily oblige. Need to boost my Delta status.

The hits kept on coming in Toronto last night(133 to be exact) and my beloved BRUINS escaped with the win. They are now 2-1 in the best of 7.

Btw, the BRUINS are hated more in Toronto than the SOX are in the Bronx.

You've done more than your share, Thunder, and your success rate at SOX games is appreciated by all SOX fans.

Well, walking the second batter of the game on 4 pitches isn't great. Ramirez and Naylor (possibly) get a crack at Anderson with a runner on.
