Not sure why the Sox have this philosophy that you can raid the bullpen for starting pitchers. I thought that was just an annoying Bloom thing, but it seems to continue. All off-season, pitchers like Eric Lauer, Zach Davies, Carlos Carrasco, and Domingo German, among others , signed minor league deals with other teams.

Per sportrac, 30 starting pitchers signed MiLB deals. None with Boston.

Not lately. The SOX, otoh, since 2012 have been either very good or very bad. Nothing in between.

Depends what you call "very bad."

2 seasons over .581 (actually over .598 in 2013 & 2018)

4 seasons .521-.580

4 seasons .480-.520

3 seasons below .479

.400 in 2020 (60 gm season)

.426 in 2012

.438 in 2014

13 seasons:

2 great

3 very good (.568 to .574 or 92-93 win seasons)

5 not real bad (.481 or 78 wins) to not real good (.519 or 84 wins)

3 really bad

Based on this teams payroll and expectations, especially compared to the Pirates, there have been a lot of “bad” seasons.

That’s fair. I’m generation Jones dnd we don’t follow Gen Z’s lame rules either.

I’m a millennial who grew up in a die hard Sox family, but grew up in Maryland. If I became a fan of another baseball team such as Baltimore or Nationals I’m pretty my dad would’ve disowned me lol.

Jerk off man comes up clutch!!

What’s the reason behind the jerk off man moniker? Idk why but I find that quite funny

Abreu is really starting to swing a good bat

Abreu has a good eye at the plate-------------almost as good as casas.

He seems to be able to catch the ball and can actually run and steal a base.

Abreu will have games where you think he’s a gem, and other games where you think you see why Houston gave him away…

I'll define it for you then: A true Red Sox fan always roots for the Red Sox no matter who they are playing.

Everyone gets to define what type of fan they are- none is more or less true than the other.

I like his ceiling. He’s only 25.

This umpire called two pitches in the zone to Dalbec balls after ringing him up on two pitches way out of the zone earlier. Is this guy blind?
