I would have been just as happy with a wild pitch. A base hit would have been a bridge too far.

When a pitcher uses the sideways type windup (the type that looks a lot like a stretch position), he has to declare which one he is throwing out of with men on base. I think Lively failed to do this; that may have been the reason the balk was called.

I was more in favor for him to be a starter than Whitlock. I never had a problem with him being a starter
