My lane is still staunchly in the anti Cashman camp at this point. Turnover is needed and the results haven’t been there

Would a WS appearance cause another waiver?

jacksonianmarch is back!  I did not remember the email I set up with, so I needed to make a new one.  Yanks are 2 games away from the WS, although they don't look great and have played s***** teams who don't belong.  I will take it.  Life has been nuts, so when the changeover happened, I never took the time to sign back up.  Hope all are doing well

Welcome back! I can help you retrieve your old account if you like.

How many times does Clay Holmes need to suck before we stop putting him into big spots?

Posted

We got Booned again.

Weaver had been amazing. So Boone goes to him for multi inning saves every single game. He uses him in Game 2, up 4. Then Game 3, he’s got nothing and gives it up. Today he goes to Holmes with runners on, which you never do. He tried to get another inning out of a guy who wasn’t even on the roster until today and it burned him. We should be sweeping this team tonight. Instead, we are likely headed to a 2-2 tie. Absolutely abysmal

The Yanks have done so poorly in the playoffs, since 2009, that I almost, yes ALMOST, forgot how much I hate seeing them win.

GO GUARDIANS!

Stanton has woke up the echoes, for sure, and it just goes to show you how Cashman is such an idiot to not provide a couple more real good bats to t his line-up, day one.

I've said it before, but here it is again, "Cashman is the best GM the Sox have ever had."

Go to the golf course, I guess you mean.

Cashman did get them Soto.

The ALCS is over. The Yankees are in the World Series. Probably not the best time to knock Cashman.

I was thinking it was 3-1. LOL.

Yes, getting Soto made a big difference, but adding one more big bat would have gave them a much better shot.

Counting on Stanton is a risky thing to do.

I'll knock him every year. He sucks.

Even Jacko knows it.

(Yes, big boo-boo on thinking the series was still 3-1.)

Getting Soto changed the narrative for Cashman. He was always looking for the under the radar signing or he’d pay through the nose for the established, older player. This was the first time since we got Javy Vazquez that the Yanks traded for an in prime, in arbitration superstar. Javy didn’t work out and they really haven’t gone that route since.

Soto is adding to his paycheck now and the Yanks are almost forced to outbid everyone for him. With Judge going into the tank in the postseason year after year, they need someone else to pair with Stanton (a historically great playoff hitter) to be the bats in the post season.

im gonna enjoy this ride as I think next year’s Yanks are going to look a lot different

By the way, that Soto at bat was one of the best atbats I’ve ever seen. He’s going up against an elite reliever. He sees absolutely everything that that guy has. Soto essentially tells him during the at bat that he can’t get him out. He fights And awaits the fastball. He gets one fastball and doesn’t miss.

Getting Soto does not forgive years and years or you and other Yankee fans screaming for Cashman's removal.

As I've said for years, I hope you keep him for decades more.

BTW, tough loss.

I ain't cryin'.

The Yanks had it. Ohtani coming up, two runners on, one out. You need to keep the ball on the ground. Tim Hill had a near 70%GB rate. Instead you go with Nestor, who hadn’t pitched in a month and admittedly is pitching with an injury that could get worse. Why that spot? You wanna get Nesty in, do it middle innings. If Nestor wasn’t hurt, then he’s the right play as he just kills lefties. But he is, so you gotta be smart, something Boone is incapable of.

It all kind of starts with Boone pulling Cole after 88 pitches when he doesn't really have a lockdown bullpen.

Certainly no one could have foreseen Boone considering the rust-caked Cortes as his his #1 lefty option over Hill.

And who refuses to replace Boone?

Game 2, Yanks got handled. Can’t blame Boone. But the Dodgers are a great team. We should be 1-1 going back to the Bronx. Now, game 3 is a must win. And where in hell is our captain? The captain should be our best player in the postseason, not our biggest liability. If the Yanks resign Soto, let’s remove the C from Judge and give it to him
