For someone who goes absolutely nutty if someone puts words in your mouth, you are doing it here...

I said...

"Who was saying we have many more wins than losses due to luck?

How is that putting the game in the win column?

Rhetorical question. Don't bother answering.

You, and Jansen blew this game. Wow!

Right counting this game in the W column when you did did not make sense.

"did did?"

Does a double positive make a negative in Red's book?

Makes total sense.

LOL!

Game over. Cards win it with a better bullpen. Brasier gets 3 outs without letting the guy on 2b score. Giving up the really hard single to Yoshida was just brilliant because the runner on 2d assumed he could never be thrown out.

Tough loss.

We need to bounce back, tomorrow.

We need a bullpen. The lineup scored 6 runs. Paxton went 5, giving up just 2 runs. And the bullpen gave up 6 runs, which could have been more but for Yoshida's excellent throw hom.

Bad loss it was, and makes it even harder to listen to the Yuckers in the booth. Cardinals may be a last place losing team, but they have some good bats on that team.

They have good bats but we still should have won this one.

Based on the regular season, the BRUINS 'should have' won the Cup. When things end badly, 'should have' will, most likely, always be part of the sentence.

Attendance 34,553, which hopefully puts to bed my thesis that Sox fans don't like their team.

Do you think Oakland fans like their team? I watched part of an A's game at Oakland recently. There might have been 200 people in attendance and they were all sitting behind homeplate.

This year's Red Sox team is not one bit like the Bruins, who had a terrific regular season. This Red Sox team has pretty much of a no name lineup that is nevertheless 3d in MLB in scoring runs, but also has a terrible pitching staff that is 26th in team ERA.

There is literally no "should" with respect to whether or not the Sox win a game this season.

I think that neither the A's fans nor the Rays fans care anything about their teams. They A's stink this year, so fan apathy is kind of understandable. But the Rays have the best record in MLB and are 23d in attendance.

The A's situation is understandable. The Rays' situation is deplorable as is their ballpark.

Our pen has been a big plus just about all year, and now "we need a pen?"

I'm not saying we don't need help, there. Maybe Paxton pushing Pivetta to the pen will help. Maybe Joely giving us another LH'd option will help.

Hopefully, the return of Crawford and Whitlock will lock things up. Pitchers will settle into their more comfortable roles, and the team goes on a rampage.

You're right of course. I'm just pissed that the Sox had this one until Winck and Jansen just gave it away.

Maybe it's better they both had a bad game, together, and we lost just one game, instead of two.

It is tough to give up leads and wins with a big time ( HoF ??) closer but that is what happens. Winckowski is another story , he needs to add to his resume before assuming he will be lights out. In any case he cost them the lead but not the game.

Overall, this is the type of loss you remember later in the year. Better win tomorrow's day game.

The odds were heavily against both of them having their worst outings in the same game. But that's what happened. Crazy freakin' game, baseball.
