Change ups will now be called slow balls. Curves will be called change of directions. Fast balls will be called high velocities. Sliders will be called sweepers.

In the case of Kluber fast balls will be called low velocities.

Makes a mistake on one pitch. Hasn’t gotten run support tonight though.

Bello has good stuff and is a battler, more so than Sale who is too easily rattled. But Bello does not yet have the command he needs. To his credit, he does try to get low strikes, but tonight a lot of them ended up balls.

This was a very good start against a good Braves lineup.

Now let's see if the bullpen butchers it.

6 innings, 2 runs. A quality start.

What is Bello going to learn in AAA? I'm listening.

Actually, the history of Sox pitching suggests that at no level in the Sox system do they know how to improve pitchers, especially with respect to command.

Nice job tonight by Bello. He's probably the SOX 2nd best starter.

Yep. I do like Houck, but Bello has better stuff.

Maybe that's why Devers didn't start tonight. He looked absolutely lost in that at bat.

Tapia gets a double off exactly the same pitch Devers swung at and completely missed.

Dalbec could have done that.

Well Dalbec can do just about everything. I see only two real weaknesses in his game: hitting and fielding. He is, on the other hand, pretty competent in the on deck circle, in the dugout, and getting to and from the ballpark.

I'm guessing Devers will start mashing again. So far this season he's been extremely hot and extremely cold. Please don't turn into Napoli.

Boy do I hope you're right and can then tell me to stuff it.

They both have nasty stuff. It's hard to know who has more.

Notin mentioned that Dalbec was a pretty good pitcher at one time. Maybe he should reinvent himself, and become a decent hitting pitcher.

Nice game by Bello.

Cora seems like he really wants his starters to go deeper, but they keep talking him out of it.

I assume your use of the word "talking" is intended as sarcasm.

The Braves pitchers have just destroyed Yoshida in these two games.

I've always wondered if Ted Williams ever had a batting slump. I'm sure he must have.
