A two game losing streak, an off day tomorrow and your best player is sitting out tonight. Ridiculous.

Not ridiculous. Devers is not our best player right now. And he is even less effective against lefties--.749 OPS vs. .888.

So far the homeplate ump won't give Bello anything, but will give the corners to Lee.

It also helps Lee that the Sox are swinging at everything.

Bello throwing a lot of pitches in the middle of the zone this inning. Either in the middle or outside the zone. No corners.

Here we go with bello. He tends to implode in the later innings.

Yeah. Gimme Pivetta any time because he implodes with the first guy he faces. Then the 2d guy, then the 3d, then the 4th. No waiting with Pivetta, he throws the game away in the first inning.

Changeup low and away for the 3d out!!!! Pivetta doesn't even have a changeup.

Three shutout innings for the kid.

Yes, very ridiculous. They had an off day Monday and they have one on Thursday. Devers should be playing. The lefty was an opener. He wasn’t going to be in there more than a couple of innings. And Devers can hit left-handers. Would you rather have Devers in the lineup or Casas?

Although it's not a large sample size, Bello is the best SOX starting pitcher to come thru the SOX farm since Buchholz. That's pretty sad. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

This team has no starters who don't struggle in the mid to later innings.

That's what the big payroll is for--to hire good pitching.

Picherd across baseball did not invent a new pitch over the winter. All of a sudden announcers are calling sliders sweepers. Why? Are we going to start changing all of the baseball terminology to satisfy some element of society?

While I agree in principle that creating names for no reason is silly, I don't thing those big sweeping breaking balls are anything like the old slider, which was/is high velocity with a sharp, but not huge break.

Looks like Atlanta has Yoshida's number.

Right. I figured sweeper was just a new name for what was once called a roundhouse curve.
