One game from .500.

No Story.

No Whitlock.

No Bello.

No Joely, Paxton and Mondesi.

We all wish the start of the season would yield better than a 3 and 4 record, but there is a 155 games to go.

Yeah, if only we could just enjoy the fact that baseball is underway. We get so fixated on our team, our boys...and their failure to win every time.

Ort has options, too, so either could be demoted without being DFA'd, right?

I was saying if they had to squeeze someone else onto the roster and DFA someone, I’d dump Ort first.

Someone’s going to have to go somewhere to make room for Whit next week, and Bello shortly after.

I'm thinking this might be the one area almost everyone, here, agrees with.

I'd also send Ort down to AAA before Kelly, when Whitlock is called up.

When Bello is ready, I'd send down Kelly over Crawford, but if Crawford keeps sucking, maybe not.

To which "we" do you refer?

I ask because the attendance for the final home game of the six game opening homestand was 24,477. Opening game a week earlier was 36,049.

I freely admit I have whined a ton this season so far and vastly prefer moonslav's more upbeat attitude. But I got into the whiny habit during the last 54 years of the 86 year curse.

Right now, I'm pretty happy with yesterday's win even though the defense continues to stink. The pitching could indeed be coming around, and the offense, except for those lousy 26 innings vs the Pirates, could be OK even though the 3, 4, and 5 batters (Turner, Yoshiba, and Duvall) are brand new. For that matter, none of Casas, Arroyo, and McGuire/Wong have been regulars before this season. The rotation has also been reconstructed--with probably more to come (Whitlock, Bello).
