Gausman vs. Crawford.

Really hard to watch this team. Uninspiring play. Management appears to have checked out. Key players will be leaving after this year. Looking for to watching the Patriots. At least they are 0-0.

Apropos of nothing, I just checked these three OPS's for August: Devers is high with .603, the Bogey with .577, then JDM at .560

We often complain that the Red Sox are inconsistent this year.

I find them very consistent. Fall behind early 9(1st/2nd inning), then lie low at bat for the next 7 innings, and score one or two to avoid being shutout, still losing

Screw Paxton and his muscle tear . he can go hold hands with Sale , except both of Chris's hands are wrapped up. Now the Sox must decide to pull the option trigger for 2023 or let him go FA again having pissed away a year's salary. Originally due back in July or August ?? My ass.

When a team stinks, it's one thing for some fans to patiently watch young guys develop and show hope for the future. But expecting us to hang around waiting for broken-down veterans to somehow make comebacks -- and be good again -- is like bald men (like me) wishing for our hair to grow back.

Earlier today there were some posts about trading prospects for young, top-of-the-rotation starters. Sounds good, but remember: in early days of the Henry ownership, the Red Sox targeted pitchers with two specific accomplishments -- 1). they proved they could beat the Yankees (who were always great, and not just hot for half a season), and 2) they not only won World Series rings, but were WS MVPS... kudos to Curt Schilling and Josh Beckett.

Teo Hernandez has a nice throwing arm, but the best story is Dalbec getting a hit through the empty zone to tie the game. Way to go BD

Will Arroyo be the best hitter on the 2023 Sox?

At least for August. He could catch Devers, X and JDM for BA, probably only JDM for OPS. It would have been nice to have that Arroyo on the field all year. Is Story still alive ? I think he is MiLB playing to get back in baseball shape.

So, who would be a trade target that meets that criteria?

Big Nate? (LOL)

Story is currently 3-3 (HR) with the Sea Dogs, tonight.

They have been amazingly consistent in finding different ways to lose. Okay, and repeating the same ways over and over, too.

Crawford with a prime example of brain dead baseball, the kind this team has demonstrated for months

What are you talking about -- he just made the club for '23! Crawford is only following directions from the PFP chapter of the Red Sox handbook: on swinging bunts, make sure the baserunner is five feet from first, and then heave the ball into New Hampshire.

Sorry

You are right

Silly of me

If only Vaz was still here to calm his frayed nerves.

Don't forget the unproductive consistency of the SOX two highest paid everyday players.
