Big Nate on the mound.

He was awful May 17 vs. Houston, going just 1.2 innings and giving up 9 runs, but since then he has gone 6.2 vs. Seattle, 9 vs. Baltimore, and 6 vs. Oakland.

6-7 solid innings tonight would be nice.

I worked in Tabuk for 4 1/2 years 25 years ago. It was 8 hours ahead of Boston (East Coast) time. And every time I flew over and back--about 3 times a year--the jet lag going east was much, much harder than the jet lag going west. And yet, historically the Sox seem to be totally jet-lagged whenever they go west--but not this time.

Agreed.

Eovaldi should be up to the task. Although he went 9 on May 28th (108 pitches) and ties his previous high or 101 pitches in the start before that, ghe only went 6 inning his last start (93 pitches) on June 3rd.

Go Nate!

Moon, any thoughts on Whitlock moving back to the pen when Sale returns or do you think Hill will be the first candidate to move out of rotation?

Tony Mass said it best last night on why Whitlock should be in the pen during the broadcast.

I'm thinking a lot depends on how Houck is doing, and if he becomes the closer.

I'm leaning towards Hill going to the pen, but each will have a few more starts before Sale returns. So much of evaluating a starter is based on his last start or two.

I know Whitlock has proven he can be great as the long man, even if that brings him to the 9th, so I'd be fine with keeping Hill in the rotation, but I think Whitlock is the better starter, despite their most recent start.

Since we were 10-19, we have gone 19-8. In that stretch we have still lost ground on the Yankees in the standings. Wow

We haven't gained much on TOR & TBR in during this streak.

Kike on IL, but Duran not called up.

Arauz called up.

Isn't there some rule about time between call-ups and sent downs?

No Devers, either.

Weird line-up and alignment.

1. Arroyo RF

2. Vaz 1B

3. JD DH

4. Bogey SS

5. Story 2B

6. Verdugo LF

7. Dalbec 3B

8. Plawecki C

I'm going out on a limb: big game from Bobby Dee.

Cora must have seen your loud post last night NEVER DEVERS. You'd better text Cora and explain that you were just kidding.

Ohtani's bargain contract ends after the 2023 season. I wonder what kind of money the Angels will offer him. He'll be close to 30 when his current contract ends. I'm guessing he'll be lookin for somewhere around 300 million for 10 years. I'm delighted I'm not an Angels' fan. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER
