Back to 2 degrees below .500 . A sweep will say it all before descending to the crashing Angels and their 9 game losing streak. Sometimes you don't want to run into a seriously losing team at their place.

We gotta take care of business vs hot, cold or luke warm teams.

Every time this team in Boston seems disappointing or discouraging, I kneel and thank God I do not feel any attachment to the LAA's. Ohtani, Trout and Maddon will regret being associated with a snakebit team.

Maddon might regret being associated, but Trout and Ohtani are the team.

The Angels might be a prime example of overpaying for stars.

Trout and Rendon make roughly $75mil between them. Then the next highest paid players are Rasiel Iglesias and Aaron Loup. Yes, Aaron Loup.

Since sweeping the Seattle Mariners in a four-game series at Fenway Park the Red Sox have gone 5-5, all against teams with losing records, while the Mariners have gone 6-4, including three games against the 34-18 Houston Astros.

Keep Devers even if they have to get rid of everyone else.

Well, maybe they should keep EO, Pivetta, Whitlock and Story. The Bogey ship has already sailed.

Looks like the A's have regressed from 'money ball' to 'pocket change ball.'

Just taking a couple years off.

Great grab by Story. Just a hell of an athelete.

He really is a whiz on D. It took him a while to get comfy at 2B.

Maybe, we see him at SS, next year.

Pivetta always had good stuff, but he usually paid for his mistakes. He's decreased the mistakes. I didn't have much confidence that he would put it all altogether, but it appears he's proven me wrong and I'm glad.

When the Sox win, the game thread is short. When they lose, it goes on and on and on. I myself have been known to criticize errors, decisions.

Right now, I'm kind of staying with moonslav's point that the big weakness is the bullpen. The lack of a reliable closer is only one manifestation of that weakness.

Three very solid wins in a row thanks to three solid starts by Whitlock, Eovaldi, and Pivetta--plus good hitting.

Yes, I do think the pen is our biggest weakness, but we do have several, and if you look at the breakdown, game-by-game, the pen has done okay in about as many games as the starters, and side-by-side they have pitched better than the starters is ab out as many games as the starters have outpitched the pen. It's a crude comp, but kind of surprising, to me.
