RHP Collin McHugh vs LHP Eduardo Rodriguez

Please do not let this go back to Tampa. Finish them tonight.

I think it's kind of funny that with all the talk of the Sox only having one legit SP'er going into the playoffs (not untrue), and how great the Rays staff is, we are facing a guy named TBD, tonight.

McHugh is starting for Tampa. I like it

The pitching situation for both clubs is very interesting.. game four has the potential of being a wild game.. like game three wasn’t right? That Hunter Renfroe play in right field will be remembered just like Vazquez’s walk off homer. Let’s end this series today and see what happens between H-Town & Chicago. Chicago came back in a big way last night.

GO SoX!

Don’t be surprised though to see Shane McClanahan take over at some point. Our offense is gonna have to find a way to get runs .

Actually, McHugh is one of the best pitchers on the Rays. Just check his stats.

Have you seen TBD's stats?

No hits, BB or runs allowed!

Thanks for the "not untrue." And yes, it is funny because Cora is playing Cash's game, only better--so far.

McHugh tonight is a classic non-starter, a reliever whose job is to mislead the opposing team and manager. He replaced starter Baz Friday night and the Sox hammered him for 2 dingers and 3 runs.

ERod, despite my continual whining, is a real starter with beaucoup innings this year and a pretty good August and September. He did, however, choke big-time 4 days ago in game 1, lasting just 1.2 innings, throwing 41 pitches, and giving up 2 walks, a double, a single and 2 runs before Richards got that 1 out followed by Pivetta's 4.2 innings. Jacksonianmarch says the Rays will kill any lefty starter, and they sure did that in games 1 and 2 of this ALDS, but his ERA, 4.71, vs the Rays is better than his seasonal ERA (over 5). So I think the Sox have the edge on starters for however long they last.

Both staffs pitched 13 (actually, 12.1 for the Rays) hard fought innings last night, but Cora only overused one guy, Pivetta. He pretty much has the rest of the bullpen if the game looks winnable. I think he will hold Houck out unless he has a real shot at this game. But Whitlock could 3 innings, Brasier 1 or 2, even Robles.

All that said, I agree with Schwarber's comment last night. This Series is far from over. Plenty of hard work remains to be done.

I kind of like him too because two nights ago the Sox nailed him for 2 dingers and 3 runs.

1. Schwarber 1B

2. Kike CF

3. Devers 3B

4. Bogey SS

5. Dugo LF

6. JD DH

7. Renfroe RF

8. Vazquez C

9. Arroyo 2B

This line-up has 10 HRs in 4 playoff games.

8 batters have a playoff BA over .308 (only Devers does not.)

It's going to come down to ERod and the pen.

I'm hoping we avoid the GIDP -are you listening JD and Hunter?

Postseason to date, the Rays have turned 6 DP's. Next most is 3. Sox have 1 DP.

Wish we had K'd instead of putting the ball in play those 6 times!

Nothing better than driving home from work and seeing 20+ people in Red Sox gear walking to the T station. The city is alive

Man.. I wish I could be there! The Red Sox, Bruins and Pats dictate the mood of the city on a regular basis. Nothing better than playoff ball.

Made the trip from CA a few years ago.. it was a thrill.

Now for the doom, and gloom portion of the pre- game show. I’ll ask once again if we can get out of the first for it all to start. We haven’t gotten out of the first inning yet without being scored upon. I think that will change tonight with E Rod. The howling would have started in the first last night, but the hounds took it easy, because it was Nate. If it would have been E Rod, or sale they would have been going full force.

I'm sitting this thread out again, tonight.

I want to really enjoy this game and team. Nothing against anyone, but I'm keeping myself calm.

I'm also wearing the same smelly Sox shirt I wore during the Nats series. I forgot to wear it game 1.

Keep that mojo risin'!

One game at a time!

I've been doing that most of the season. I can guarantee you that you will enjoy yourself tonight
