i also didn’t say that he shouldn’t be in the game at 1B, nor did I say anything about the relative importance of offense versus defense. I said he looks like an amateur at 1B. That is my opinion, and you are free to disagree, but don’t put words in my mouth. I guess you think he looks like Boomer Scott or Don Mattingly at 1B... or would that be putting words in your mouth. Take a deep breath and get a grip.

I have no idea what the future holds for Schwarber, but it would be to his advantage to practice playing 1st base during the off season. If the SOX re-signed him with this in mind, I'd rather have Schwarber playing 1st than Bobby Dee.

 

Of course he'll do that. His bat is invaluable, and I'd rather have him at 1b than in the outfield. Right now, I'm thinking it make make sense to keep JDM for one more year as well. Thus my rant about Cora playing both of them in the field in a NL park, the bat is mightier than the glove.

I have a question about the inspection of pitchers for foreign substances. What happens if a pitcher loads up on spider tac in game 7 of the WS and gets caught? Would there be any penalty other than a suspension to be served at the beginning of 2022?
