Dalbec has fouled off some tough pitches. That last strike looked outside, but it was close.

Last few AB's Dalbec is looking tentative with 2 strikes as he did previously.

Could there be a bigger difference then Eovaldi--our best starter--and Vazquez last night and Pivetta--our 3d or 4th best starter--and Plawecki today?

Pivetta, with Plawecki calling the shots, looks like Eovaldi at his best. And last night Eovaldi looked like Pivetta at his worst.

The only thing Vazquez does better than Plawecki is throw guys out stealing, but this year he's almost as bad as Plawecki (who is definitely bad).

Max, this is your 4th post today where you blamed VAZ for EO's s***** performance. I believe we all understood your feelings after the 1st post.

This is what Mary Kay reported on YES.

That would mean they projected the ball would only go about 50-60 feet beyond the tower.

I'm not buying it.

I'm looking for someone to rebut, without which I will assume I'm right. I'm quite aware my statistical sample is miniscule, but I was certain Plawecki was going to catch Eovaldi again last night and am bitter that he didn't and that Eovaldi did so poorly. Plus I think Vazquez is stupid on the basepaths.

I won't rebut because I think Plawecki should have been the primary catcher (due to his bat) during August and early September. If , in fact, it wass Vaz's game calling that got Eovaldi in trouble last night, then Vaz needs to go. But the ball came out of Nate's hand, not Christians. Very tough to pin it on the catcher when the pitcher can in effect call his own game. I do think Vaz may lack essential mental processes in some categories.

There were at least 3 pitches that JD should have slammed over the fence. I think I'll follow MAX's lead and do about 4 posts relating to how I would love not to have JD on the team next season.

I am amazed that NESN posted a stat that JDM was hitting about .321 over the last 21 games. My perception would have been more like .122. I do think he might solve some decision points if he opted out for '22

The longest HR I ever saw that went over the LF wall was hit by Dewey. Unfortunately, back then they didn't have these distance equipment they have now.

Actually, I think this is bigger than me being argumentative, redundant, whatever.

It's late in the season, the Sox are in it, and every game is a big deal. Cora has been terrific this year, but I completely disagree with not having Plawecki catch Eovaldi last night. I think Vazquez is OK with Sale because he's so professional and basically only throws three pitches.

If I were king, I would not let Vazquez catch Eovaldi or Pivetta for the rest of the season.

The really big shots landed on the roof of a garage or some such across the street. Don.t think anyone got it to the Turnpike

I seriously doubt VAZ is dumber than Sanchez. To be dumber than Sanchez one would have to be in a coma.
