Agree. Normally, a runner on 2b will already get a jump with 2 outs and so should be able to score on even a hard hit single which this was.

The replay shows that Vazquez did go at the crack of the bat, but not quickly, nor did he get around 3b quickly. I can't tell what the 3b coach signaled, but Vazquez was out by 20 feet.

Vaz is always getting in trouble on the basepaths.

He was sent in by Febles.

I agree he was waving his arms, but I didn't see him motioning toward home. If that was the go sign from Febles, he is a piss poor 3b coach. Plus Vazquez is really slow on the basepaths.

This team has had the worst baserunning I can remember any Sox team having. The defense too....like a high school game.

The Sox have not made one single good play on defense, but have made several weak plays that were not scored as errors.

I'm convinced that if we bring back this same defensive team, even signing 2 aces and the best two RP'ers on the market, won't mean jack s***.

You can't ask any pitcher to get 4 outs an inning all year long.

Blame Bloom. Blame Cora. Blame the bozo defenders. It matters little, if we don't make serious changes on D for 2022.

JDM, the old reliable. When a GIDP is there to be made, he is the man to make it. He hit that ground off a ball up in the strike zone, which is why we call him Old Reliable.

Sale is pitching his heart out despite weak defense, a hostile ump, and hitters who aren't, well, hitting.

That he is behind 2-1 was completely predictable. Rays pitching and defense are vastly better than the Sox, and hitting is incidental.

If nothing else, at least we know Sale can be the ace of the staff next year. He looks good. He will be better next year.

He's going to need some company. We can't have guys like Perez, Richards, and Pivetta (unless he is a #5) out there every fifth day. And ERod has got to do much better.

You need to check your facts. Richards and Perez are in the bullpen. Pivetta is inconsistent, but has also pitched well in some game and might be fixable. Four of ERod's 5 most recent starts have been good.
