I must admit, I was a bit surprised they kept Houck in, especially after the HR.

He was over 80 pitches and had the long delay after warming up.

Nah. Cora was telling the kid he had confidence in him. Major league pitchers are going to give up homers to major league hitters. Houck didn’t reward that confidence by hitting the next 2, but I had no problem leaving him in at that point.

Well, Ramirez is about 4 years older than Devers, so when Devers is 29, I'm pretty sure his WAR will be higher than 5.

The 3.5/5 is this year. Devers is at 10.8 for his career while Ramirez is 32.4.

Ramirez is a helluva player who isn’t better known because he’s spent his entire career in Cleveland. This is his 9th year, and he’s finished 2nd in the MVP voting once and 3rd twice and a 3 time all-star (the Guardians have been pretty good the past several years so it’s not like he was the mandatory selection every time).

I didn't really "have a problem" with it, but after that long delay after he had already warmed up, I thought he'd be yanked after 65-70 pitches, at most.

With the way our pen is looking, leaving in a starter who is looking good makes a lot of sense.

Now, I'm under the table watching Robles.

Robles, just hit and miss

8 times he did his job, 1 IP, 0 runs

3 times he got blown up, 3, 4 and 5 runs

Looking for good Robles

He should have been out of that inning unscored on

It's tough for Cora having two DH's on his team.

Yes it is. It’s a tough situation, especially with Renfroe gone due his father’s death and Kike out for a couple weeks.

His approach at the plate is much better in that he's been more selective at what he's swinging at.

See, this is what gets me. Posters always say things like, "Pitcher learned how to pitch to him," or "They figured him out," but they never think the hitter has a chance to adjust to the adjustment, and sometimes that takes time and effort.
