In fairness to the pitchers, the league has done everything it can to favor the batters. Runs, especially HR's, bring the fans to the ballpark. Even allowing batters to wear armor at the plate favors the batter.

4 runs by Sox not too shabby. Shabby are the 3 unearned runs given up by the Sox. Sox pitching has actually been excellent, appearances to the contrary.

It's hard to even count Santana, except to blame Bloom for calling him up. He was a depth signings for the minors with a ML opt out.

 

Andriese is not making all that much, barely over 2X min wage. The Sawamura deal ($3M/2 yrs w option) cancels out Andriese. alone.
