Perez has had a few tough luck losses, so it's nice to see the team have his back, tonight.

 

Rays hit a slam in the 11th, so we're up 1 on the Rays, 1.5 on the Yanks and now 3.5 on the Jays, after it looked like they were one of the hottest teams.

 

The Rays always surprise, but I still worry more about NY & Tor.

I like the extra pitcher, but losing Brice while also playing in a NL ballpark--hence needing more pinch-hitters--makes sense. Santana for Brice is a no-brainer.

JDM is 7th in MLB in OPS, tied for 4th (with Devers and others) in home runs, tied for 2d (with Devers and others) in rbi's, and is 1st in runs scored.

 

This is a lot like 2018, especially with the Sox leading MLB in runs scored, OPS, doubles, etc. And they are doing it without a certain rightfielder who plays on the other coast.

We are now 10 games above .500, our high water mark of the season. Every time I think they're going to go on an extended cold streak, they rattle off a quick 3 or 4 game win streak. Great feeling.

I agree. I still think the Jays finish ahead of the Rays, but the Rays almost always surprise. I’d put the Yanks slightly ahead of the Jays.

 

Yes, it will be a tough race.
