He got hit around last time out, but that was back on 4/24.

Haven't heard anything.

That was the inning that caused the drunk guy next to me at Fenway to yell out asking for his money back

Did we really expect to never have an 8 and 9 stretch? I know losing to some chumps is not easy to take, but we are bound to have even worse stretches than this going forward.

This team has too many weak areas to sustain a 65% winning rate all season long.

Agreed. We were still 3-3 on the week.

That’s usually the sign of a winning team. They go 3-3 or 8-9 in their down times- not 1-5 or 4-13.

My bad guys, I meant the Jays (not sure why I said Yanks)

Jays play Oakland tonight and if they win that they are just a half game behind us.

I agree with both of you, we have too many weaknesses right now to be winning 9 straight. It was fun while it lasted though.... Man it's a shame we just couldn't get the pitching in.... The series against the Rangers should have been a win if we even had average pitching.

The Jays are 1.5 behind. If they win they go to 1 behind not 1/2.

We could have won, yes, but we could have lost both to the Mets.

Our pen was bound to have a few off nights. Let’s hope we can put some more distance between us and the rest over the next 7 games vs low opps.

How?

We also have two extra games then the Jays do. If they win tonight they are 15-12.

Regardless, half game. Full game. Doesn’t matter if we keep playing like this and the Jays keep playing like they are they will be first by the end of the week

Texas was suppose to be a low opponent lol

We are 17-12. They are 14-12. That’s 3 games times 1/2= 1.5 up.

If they win, they are tied in the loss column and 2 down in wins. That’s one full game.

If we can’t hold first place playing the worst in the league then we don’t deserve even bring in the race.

No doubt, but many champs have lost a series or two to bad teams.

Not saying we are pending champs.

True, but I think over the years the Red Sox have often struggled on the road against Texas.

Oh yea that makes sense. And I agree completely. Also if the Jays get first the deserve it right now. Sweeping Atlanta is no easy task, and now they have a very tough Oakland team.

Curious if anyone has the stats on our offense the last 17 games. Since the win streak, we have gone 8-9. Curious where we sitting in runs scored through that stretch.

During our 9-game win streak, the team's batting line was .319/.380/.543/.922 and they averaged 7.4 runs per game. I think we all knew that was not sustainable.

Over the last 17 games, the team's batting .244/.310/.409/.719 and averaging 3.9 runs per game. The offense isn't this bad either. They should settle somewhere nicely in the middle.

Even the Dodgers, who look to be in a class of their own, are 3-7 in their last 10 games.

There's a long way to go Tyler. The Red Sox are scuffling just a bit. The Jays are on a 7-3 run. They, too, will hit a rough patch or two, or more.

Fair point but what scares me is the Jays are beating some good teams. They have already beat the Yankees and now swept Atlanta.

We are losing to the likes of Texas. We shall see what happens after the 31st when the real tough stretch of games happens
