The AL East is leaving us behind

So far the notable additions

Boston - Martin Perez, Hunter Renfroe

NY - Corey Kluber

Toroto - Tyler Chatwood

Baltimore - None

Tampa - Michael Wacha, Luis Patino (minors?)

Even adding Yates to the mix, I'm hesitant to say the Sox are being let behind, especially with ERod and Sale returning. The bigger issue is how much ground the Sox have actually made up...

Some might say if Perez is an addition for us, DJ is an addition for the Yanks.

Any list like this might be more informative, if they provided all the players lost- like JBJ, Tanaka, Paxton, Happ...

I wouldn't say we're closing the gap, based on the talent and results of last year. I need to wait and see what ERod and Sale do when they come back.

We finished an embarrassing last in 2020. Behind even Baltimore. So far we have done little to improve on that. We keep hearing " In Bloom we trust " , but it is now time for him to do something to warrant that trust.

That's what we heard a year ago . " It's still early. Plenty of time to do something. " Then it was , " at the deadline." Now , it's a year later . And we are still hearing " It's early. Plenty of time." Okay. But let's not wait until anyone who can make an impact is already taken.

Many of us knew we were resetting, last winter. We never expected anything major all winter long.

Tampa dealt Nate Lowe to Texas. Lowe represents a (minimal) loss, not a gain...

Last off-season was active, just not in a fun way. The Sox did make that Betts/Verdugo trade...

That's all that needs to be said.
