I just looked up Perez’s stats vs. the Yanks. They are mindboggling.

Going into this game, on 5 games and 22 innings, he has a 9.97 ERA, an OPS of 1.137 and a WHIP of 2.123. Those have not gone down tonight.

Why would you ever send him out against NY?

Bruins having the same problem as the Sox tonight---Can't hit (the back of the net)

Same story as always can’t score 5 on 5. That group has won a lot of game the last couple of years yet have no titles to back it up. They seriously need pasta back.

I will offer one hitting concept to Devers and several others. Every time you try to pull a low outside pitch, you will roll it over into a simple ground ball , often a DP.

The overall pitching is self-explanatory, however sad to watch. The hitting , on the other hand , by multiple veterans is inexplicable.

B's went nuts on Reimer in mid 3rd period. Sort of like the comback win the Sox will be posting tonight

I don’t even know how to handle the Red Sox this year. Jokes aside, I’m a little too passionate to be living and dying by them every game. I guess the best thing we can hope for is a cancelled season?

I’m sorry, but there need to be some Yankees put on their butts. They are waaay too comfortable up there.

Edit - And I mean all teams need to do this, not just the Sox.

I know what you mean about why give a damn what these guys do. i got over that years ago after I went to the mailbox many times over a couple of decades looking for my check from the RedSox. Always figured the check was in the mail and would get here tomorrow. Never did and finally I got over it.

What is it ?? 11-12 HR's in a 4 game series. No pride or competitiveness showing up

Nooooo, unless it is cancelled September 1 or later. Season has to get to that date for the luxury tax reset to occur. Otherwise, we’re going to be subject to this show again next season.

What’s worse, teams like the Yankees and Dodgers would avoid the tax for another year. They may not care if they pay it, but at least they would have to.

The thing is they aren’t cheapie Yankee Stadium homers for the most part, they are bombs.

I would say that achieving the reset is the single and best reason to play this out another two weeks and then Sept if anyone is interested.

I’ve jokingly said over the past decade or so that the Red Sox always do well the first 20 years of a century. However, it is an unfortunate fact that the Sox were basically putrid for 15 years after they won the series in 1918.

I can only hope history is not repeating itself.

Henry screwed this up when he abandoned the Cherrington’s plan for the quick strike, yet unsustainable desperate Dave plan.

I do not know if hang’em Chaim can evaluate pitching properly or he if is yet another Henry screw up, but regardless, hang’em Chaim has to rebuild the major league team, rebuild the farm system, rebuild the analytics department, rebuild the scouting, drafting and cross checking systems and find a new manager.

I expect the next five to ten years, we are rebuilding the right way, provided Henry does not do something stupid and provided hang’em Chaim is legit!

But if done the right way, we will have a sustainable championship level product fielded every year thereafter!

Its not going to take 5-10 years to rebuild. By next year and the year after the Sox will have plenty of money to spend and they will get some good draft picks in next year's draft. They could contend again in 2 years.

September 1st is the magic date.
