On the Yankee fan forum, they were talking about Cashman addressing the team, and one guy says "Someone needs to address Cashman."

Cashman thanks his stars that the old man is no longer among the living . The son has a lot more patience.

Let's Go O's!!!! Let's Go O's!!!! Let's Go O's!!!!

They got a big week ahead of them. 1-0 so far in their stretch of 6 consecutive games in NYC

Garcia super impressive again. And Boone has Holder in the pen in the 5th. WTF?

BTW, if this kid can stay healthy, he is gonna be really, really good. Poise beyond his years. A change up that moves a ton and he can locate. A plus, plus curve that is dynamite. But the most impressive thing for me is the fastball. He can run it as a sinker. He can 4 seam it. But the most impressive two things about it are the ability to locate to all 4 quadrants and that he varies the velocity like a crafty veteran. Really impressed with this kid.

Even though they are still in the hunt numbers wise, I don't think the Os have it in them at all to make it to the playoffs. I look for the Yanks to win at least 3 out of 4 from them in the upcoming series, unfortunately. Please prove me wrong Os.

There’s a difference between a team who lacks talent playing over their head and a good team playing poorly. The Yanks “should” sweep them. In a standard year, this start wouldn’t be an issue and I’d anticipate a stretch of great play to vault them into first. But in a sprint season, the best team doesn’t always win. So who knows.

I will say, the Red Sox played this year perfectly. I’m a die hard baseball fan and I’m finding this farce hard to watch. A minor league stadium for the Jays. No fans, players clearly not prepared appropriately leading to sluggish play and a disproportionate amount of injuries. If there was ever a year to reset, it was this year. If a die hard fan like myself finds this year almost apathetic, how will the casual fans take it?

I think baseball will rebound when the plague is finally under control - hopefully by the start of next season.

On paper, I have to agree. But te fact that it is still a possibility puts to some faith in the Orioles for me.

What really helps the Yankees is they have no games left against Tampa, whom they are 2-8 against this year...

Yankees still have an 87.5% chance of making the playoffs.

A nice three-game losing streak might reduce those odds...

I would say that the Yankees are a pretty sure bet to make the playoffs. The Orioles are not a good team , they are the opposite of a good team . The Jays have some good, young hitters and an overachieving bullpen , but they make a lot of mistakes and do not play solid fundamental baseball. I don't see them as a serious contender. The Yankees are in a good position for the stretch run.

If we can get healthy and our pen remembers who they are, then we will be in good position.

This is something that the Yankees have to be optimistic about in the playoffs. In the playoffs, the best team doesn't always win.

I think baseball will rebound also when things return to 'normal'. I don't see that the sport of baseball is in grave danger like some people think.

Hopefully, it will be by the start of next season.

What really helped the Yankees was that they went 7-0 against the Sox. It's like we've become the Minnesota Twins.

The Yankees, unfortunately, will make the playoffs. Not because they're as good as Jacko thinks they are, but because their competition is simply not that good. The Os are pretenders. The Jays are fortunate to be where they are in the standings. They don't have the pitching.

But beyond those two teams, I don't think the Yankees are better than any of the other AL contenders. Perhaps the Astros.

I agree. They will make it to the playoffs. They have the randomness of the playoffs in their favor once they get there.

I will be pulling for any team not named the Yankees.

Jete! Hello stranger. I am well and hope you are too.

It's always nice when you pop in to say hi. I really wish you would come around and post more often. :)

Quietly, JA Happ has been very, very good. 36IP, 30K, 1.18WHIP 3.96ERA. It seems Boone has learned his lesson. He’s gone more than 5 innings 3 times in 7 starts, but more than 6 just twice. Yesterday, he was pulled after 5 strong at only 74 pitches. At this stage of his career, JA is at most a 6 inning pitcher, and really should be a 5 inning and then real quick hook kind of guy. As it seems at this point, he’s likely our #4 in the POs after Cole, Tanaka and Deivi.
