I think this is a bad choice by management. They should clean house of anyone connected to the Cora regime. Hire an outside candidate for Manager and allow him to hire coaches. Keeping the old guard will only serve to fuel doubt and possibly taint the Sox reputation further. Weak move.

I think that the Sox naming Roenicke as the manager suggests that there isn't much to the Red Sox cheating scandal. I would have preferred a younger manager, along the lines of Cora, but outside of that, Roenicke is probably a good choice to provide some continuity, stability, and patience to a team that I think is strongly in need of it.

yes, we should. but again i believe that we were caught doing something in 2018. if that turns out to be unfounded i will certainly admit i was wrong to have already laid judgement on the current coaching staff...

Sounds like Red Sox plan to have some news for us tonight. Could be resolution of MLB investigation or could be a new manager. I'd bet on the latter, but we will see.

in a weird way i kind of want the Sox to announce him as manager and then manfred come out and suspend him just so that this unbelievably nutty offseason gets even crazier......

Roenicke would not have been hired if he was involved in any sign stealing. The Sox are only going to get a slap on the wrist if anything. There are no former players ratting them out (Fiers) for anything. No proof. NO crime. Move on. Nothing to see here.

The reason it's interim is because the investigation isn't done.

The 'interim' in his title is more than likely to go away soon.
