As a team the SOX pitching is ranked at 18th in the league with an ERA of 4.66. Of the teams ranked 19-30 only the Brewers at 4.71 and ranked 20th are playing over .500 ball (68-66). Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

It looks like this as we begin tonight: Guardians will be 79-56 (about to lose)

Oakland will be 78-56 (about to win)

TB will be 78-58 (about to win)

Sox 72-62 (6 back in LOSS column)

Brockstar may be having his best season as a SOX. Let him continue to play 2nd until the SOX are mathematically eliminated. Which I hope doesn't happen.

There is absolutely no reason to platoon Brock at 2nd.

Oh yes, the game. Just got back from a AA game in time to check it out. What a joy watching baseball under the two conditions of AA: (1) a pitch clock (this can't get into the MLB fast enough, in my view), and (2) NO REPLAY!!!! Remember when watching baseball used to be fun?

He's only got a little over 200 PAs, this season.

He is playing well, though.

So, bench the .321 hitting Marco?

Interesting stat on the LA feed. Betts leads the AL in number of hard hit balls to the outfield with 142. Devers is third and Trout is 5th.

Will Betts make it over .900 now that we're out of it?

Is that pitch clock in effect when there's runners on base?

I know the SOX reaching the PO's doesn't look good right now, but we've both watched enough baseball to know stranger things have happened. Of course, Betts getting hot would help.

Yes, they have, and there are ample examples of a team coming back from way down to pass someone, but does anyone know the record for coming X amount of games behind two teams to pass both teams?
