Brilliant effort by my fav--Matt Barnes. I do not make this s*** up. Anyone who relies totally on the stats is looking at the history of what happened, not what is about to happen. You could see Abreu getting ready , pitch after pitch.

 

If you can't get them in 20 pitches, find a new line of work. Cora has to see this too.

 

Yep. Barnes made 5-6 great pitches in that AB that Abreu fouled off until he got the one mistake. More hitters should learn to do that instead of swinging for the downs every time.

This team needs a closer badly. Entering the season I thought we could find one by committee. It’s not gonna happen. No one there has the guts in high leverage situations. No one.

 

Said that we are one piece away to compete to high caliber teams.

 

DD has to grab a proven closer, otherwise we aren’t going anywhere.
