Bob Stanley was a good pitcher for the Sox. Great career. But his wild pitch in Game 6 set Buckner up to be a goat when he shouldn't have been. Stanley and Calvin S. blew the game. Media and many Sox fans were horrible to Buckner.

Teddy Buck had bad Knees that guy should have been riding pine that late in the game .Buckner was doing everything his body allowed its the manager that f***ed us and him .Managers are responsible for downright Horrible losses and decisions like that .I love Buck and never blamed that man .

I would start pulling some of these big assed name everyday ballplayers off the field before I would pull journeyman relief pitchers off. Billy Martin used to do that pretty regularly and end up in a fist fight in the dugout. I would not mind seeing a fist fight in our dugout the way we have played.

Truth is though, with Holt hurt we really don't have anybody we can replace one of the everyday players with...who Sandy....Nunny. I hate having to carry an extra relief pitcher though I really don't know who I would bring up to this team if we had the spot available sad to say.

IMO the way we have spend 1st base money has been sheer insanity. Thought so when we did it.

Bummer now in his second inning and over 23 pitches. If my thinking is valid, often not, this is the place to beat him

A three man bench , including the relief catcher , is a serious problem when one of them (Holt) has a minor or indeterminate injury that binds you up even more for a few days. No one at Pawsox who could find Fenway except Sam Travis is part of the problem

That's the second time in a week the Vaz/JBJr run and hit has been a real failure. Big game tonight by Vaz

Vasquez's act is getting old....very very old. I would send him down and bring up some stiff from AA ball. Phantom injury maybe. I would also send down Benintendi. I don't care who comes up.

He is having a very good offensive season and he is still a good defensive catcher. Don't go crazy man. You can't send him down.

so how many of you managers played beyond little league?

Best I can tell, virtually everyone here got to AAA, and just missed a big promotion to the show due to an unfortunate turf toe injury

IMO what timely hits we have gotten this year have come from guys like Vaz. 1-6 in the order has been a desolate wasteland of inconsistency.
