We only thought last night's loss was the worst all year. This one is worse. Mainly because it showed last night's BP blow was not a fluke. The pitchers did not respond with an exceptional effort. Yet it is still winnable with a Slam followed by two more back to backs. Not asking much.

JD rolls into DP or Ks too much this year at the big inning.

The Red Sox hitters tendency to be umpires while they are hitting. Down by 5 maybe go up there just hacking like Devers and Chavis do. Who knows you may hit something. JDM is way off base in recent weeks.

Without even evaluating his available choices , Cora has seemed to be managing the next game at the expense of the current game. Odd fact, they all count the same.

It’s getting so that a bullpen can’t give up 21 earned runs in a 9 inning stretch without people getting all judgy...

But I stayed positive, it is still winnable

You know how you know this bullpen is in trouble? I would bet real money that they could not piece together an actual bullpen game right now if their lives depended on it.

Here is another thing to consider. We are 16-10 for the month of May so far. Not bad right? Who did we pick up ground on?

I miss Kimbrel. Even he wouldn’t save us right now.

When you score 9 runs and don’t win it’s 100% on the manager.

WTF Cora

This.

Also Price going 6 shutout innings and us having a 3 run lead and we blow it yesterday. Both games a complete disaster for Cora. We have the Yankees coming up now. Good luck with that Cora. Smh.

Who do you trust out of the pen other than Barnes and maybe Workman? Cora has two guys that can get outs. That’s about it.

The SOX spending pattern is similar to a person buying an expensive stereo system. The money spent for the offense and starting pitching would be similar to the money a person would spend on the expensive electronics(pre-amp, amp, turntable, cd player) and the large pair of expensive full-range speakers. That brings us to the BP. That would be similar to the person having spent most of his/her money on the stereo system, now has to get his warped, scratched records at GW.

perhaps start Sale on his normal rest?

The question becomes, would you rather have a pen game vs the Yanks or the Guardians? I understand why Cora chose Cleveland. A game against a team you’re chasing is essentially a two game swing every time you play. Cora sacrificed yesterday to try to win today. We shall see if it works.

Yeah I agree with this. It's not pretty, but it's what you gotta do sometimes. It also sets up a 4 game set where I like our pitchers all 4 days.

Read a funny article last night on USA Sports, it said tell Stanton, to take his time, the Yanks don't need him, at the moment. The kids are doing fine.

Predictable. They could say the same about Judge right now too!

WTF Cora

Really? Here's why I disagree--

1. Cora had to start Weber, who was fine his last start, but gave up 7 in 4 this time. He didn't have great command this time.

2. Weber had to go 4 innings because this was the 13th straight game with no break and included one 2 out start by Price and one 13 inning game. So the bullpen has been taxed.

3. Thus the bullpen gave up another 7 runs in the final 5 innings after giving up 7 in 3 innings the night before.

4. Cora did not, to the best of my knowledge, throw a single pitch last night\ or the night before. \

5. It is possible that either game, last night or Tuesday night, would have had a better outcome with Leon behind the plate. However, Tuesday night Price did splendidly with Vazquez catching.

Ultimately, of course, the manager is responsible for all wins and losses in the context of what could reasonably be expected. This year, beyond question, the Sox, who returned the lion's share of last year's 108 wins team, have underperformed.

And by now it should be clear to one and all it's primarily the pitching. The hitting is not far behind last year's MLB-leading (runs scored, team OPS) offense. The only real missing link is Kimbrel, and I agree with DD--and all other MLB general managers who haven't picked Kimbrel up--that his price was/is too high.
