Who gives a hoot in whatever whether Betts bats 1st or 2d? Seriously.

As for those three rotten players at the bottom of the order, that's who Cora has. And have you forgotten the incessant drumbeat on last year's game threads saying exactly the same thing about a lineup that won 108 games?

It is actually more a comment on Benintendi's incompetence with a bat in his hand. Pearce was not on the roster when they went 17-2, he came later. But you are right, Cora could restack this lineup from bottom to top and they would neither lose nor gain very much

I blame the SOX downfall on the loss of Joe Kelly.

Peace. I feel right now like i'm in the movie Network and mad as heck and don't care who knows it. This team this year so far seems at their best trying to find new ways to lose games.

This team has had no urgency whatsoever. They’re just going throwing the motions. Terrible season lies ahead and and not even in June yet.

Hey at least I can switch over to the Indy 500 when the Sox half inning comes up. Might get two laps in before Verlander dispenses with them.

Amen. The real key is, as you point out, the virtual same crew only 7 months agao was concluding a WS year with total domination against 3 very good teams. Was it a fluke ? No ! But now , after 52 games, and plenty of rest breaks, they don't execute fundamentals, day after day on a rotating basis around the lineup or on the mound. Yes, very frustrating and we will not tolerate this complacency much longer before we sue !!

Nice play by Pearce. Not everyone would have run on that WP.

Would be really nice to see Betts going back to taking the first pitch strike and hit it. His play is underwhelming this year.

He needs to get the ball in the air....tired of watching him hit ground balls.

As I tell my grandson, keep your head in the game and be baseball ready. Now Pearce is on third instead of being DP'ed by Bradley.

Just curious. Does JBJ know who the 1st base coach is?

He doesn’t look at him all that often so either that or he doesn’t like him.

He hits a lot of pop ups to shallow OF taking a weak swing, the only hacks in an AB. It seems 50% of his AB only gets 1 swing in.

So which is worse? Seeing Beni take a fastball right down the middle or seeing him swing at one and miss it completely? Miraculously Verlander is going to the curve in the dirt.

That is one weak-armed centerfielder. He's lucky they cut it off because I'm not sure it was going to make it home on the ground.

Beni picked up the run for which I am appreciative. But I just can't see myself ever being that young man's biggest fan. As Jung says, Beni has a good PR Dept.

I know physical size doesn't mean anything in baseball, but our OF'ers ( not JDM) are no taller than 5'-10" and under 200. It will be no contest in a real brawl. I worry about these little guys.
