Erod getting awful close to throwing some middle middle pitches. Still Vaz and Erod have done a good job to this point

They have to get Erod out at this point. He is wild in the strike zone now

Should have come out after the error. That stuff affects him a lot. Notice how Bogaerts came over to him and said , hang on. He didn't

Not shocking that Rodriguez couldn’t finish that. Our starting pitching has been atrocious at times.

It’s how the season is going. Offense gets a lead the s*** pitching blows it. Pitching has a great game. Offense no where to be found. Can’t put all phases of the game together unfortunately. I knew tampa would get a couple runs but oh well. Hopefully we get out of this and the offense keeps plugging away.

That is frustrating. That is about as good a job of managing a start by a Catcher and really by the battery in tonight's game. Erod just is not IMO talented enough. He is close. Like a perennial #5 starter. The problem is there is no such thing as a perennial #5. Your new guy coming up is your #5, not your 5-6 year veteran pitcher.

He’s talented enough; he has a 10 cent head. He has a ton of stuff and no idea how to use it, and he shows no inclination to learn how.

He has stuff but I tend to figure the 10 cent head into whether a guy has talent or not. The 24 pitch 1st inning eventually caught up to him even though he was making up ground on pitch count for most of the rest of the game. He either starts games with no confidence in any single pitch or loses confidence quickly if he has any at the start of the game. Vaz gave him as much help as you can ever expect from a catcher and it just is not enough. Its never enough with Erod.

E-Rod down the stretch last year finally looked like he was turning into a very solid pitcher. But he has too many stretches of being average to below average like now. His last start was good and you finally think he is getting it together. Then he goes out and gives up 4 runs. Granted it’s against a good team but it’s still frustrating.

In fact, I don't think I can remember another starter with the stuff that Erod has that has absolutely no confidence in anything he is throwing and no way to get to any. That is a recipe for disaster as a MLB Starting Pitcher. Edited by jung

Bruins losing as well. They deserve to lose. I never seen a soft bunch in my life. Biggest game of the year and they come up with a lame performance .
