4/16 vs Yankees

I normally would not start a game thread here. But since my team is involved and nobody has bothered to post a thread with the game starting in less than an hour, here ya go.

 

Boston Red Sox (6-11) @ New York Yankees (6-9)

Opening pitch @ 6:35 PM

 

Today we get a pitching matchup between Chris Sale and James Paxton. This would have been a battle of aces in 2018, but today both sides are hoping that their starter does not got knocked out of the game early.

Interesting that about 5 out of 9 Yankee starters are somewhat unrecognizable or previously marginal players.

DL apparently told Remy that they are working on Sale's mechanics. Not a surprise since other than Price, their mechanics suck to a man.

 

Actually as much as I comment about the motion, release points and follow through of our pitchers I have no shot with Sale. I have no shot with any of the tall gangly pitchers. Could not figure out Randy Johnson either via video screen. So I have some sympathy for DL trying to help Sale work things out. The tall lanky guys are all elbows and knees and are all over the place. They are so big and lanky that their deliveries tend to be specific to them individually. DL says he is trying to get Sale to a more compact delivery and trying to get him to speed up his delivery.
