The ump missed it and there wasn't enough to overturn it. No luck for the Sox.

That's just good sportsmanship. Taking it up the ass, & saying, "we'll come again!"

On another subject, I've noticed that 3 of the SOX last 4 WS wins have come with a 1st year manager. Just an intriguing observation.

I guess it’s time to fire Cora

Like the foul pole, which is actually in fair territory, are the A's 2 blasts, Home Runs or Run Homes (with no chance of being out) ? Price looked good for 2 except for the big hits, which our hitters haven't matched yet.

Ixnay on Price with the best artstay.

Still up in the air I think.

He’s been our best starter through 3 innings so far. Couple solo runs. But game is still very mangable if the bats get going.

If a pitcher does not have his rising heater in contemporary MLB, the way hitters are approaching their plate appearances, they have negated everything but the best control and location pitchers in the game. If the pitcher is up in the zone but not rising out of the zone, it hardly matters if he has thrown a FB or a Change. Changeup's are dangerous as heck pitches. Likely to end up taking the pitchers head off coming back the other way off the bat....or....if every hitter in baseball is trying to leave.....its outta' here. Same can be said for FB's up but not rising out of the zone.

The pitcher might be able to throw a curve up there and get away with it. Virtually anything else is a HR or an out. A base hit is in more cases than I have ever seen an accident these days.

In defense of Cora's babying the starters during spring training, except for Porcello, this is a fragile staff.

Agreed. I get not having much practice but it’s been pretty atrocious. Price hasn’t been horrible.

Top 4 in the lineup posting an 0-8 effort through 4. But it's early, 15 outs to go.

The atrocious pitching carried over to the entire team apparently.

it’s gonna take a couple of weeks to back in track. This team is still in hangover mode.

These are all pithes way too good to be throwing to Davis. He just missed two pitches that could have just as easily been waaaayyyyy gone just like his first AB. Edited by jung

Price is pitching well. As a pitching to contact staff you'd expect them to give up HRs. But the walks really did in E-rod and Porcello to trash like Vogelback and Jay Bruce.

I just viewed on the Oakland feed that JD had 358 total bases last year which led MLB. In 1978, before steroids made a mockery of all offensive stats, Jim Rice had over 400 total bases. The first player to do that since DiMaggio had over 400 TB's in '46.

He’s been a breath of fresh air compared to what we had last series.

Its almost like everybody trying to leave has also changed the way pitchers approach the truly dangerous hitters on the opposing teams...as if "well if everybody is trying to leave....whats the dif". Well the dif is that some guys actually can leave all the time ....like DAVIS! Can't just treat the Davis's of the world like everybody else has just caught up to them as far as the threat they represent. They haven't.

Man 2 outs has been the toughest to our starters.

2 out walks, and 3-2 singles with 2 outs will stretch the pitch count, as you can see. Price was pretty efficient until the last 12 pitches
