In all 3 games, our starting pitcher gave up 6 or more runs. They were not ready to begin the season.

Bogey looked terrible with the bat the whole game

Not sure why X didn't at least try to pooch that into RF down 0-2 in the count. I know he is confident he can work his way back into any count. But a pooch to RF there ties the game and you have to make some concessions to being that far down in the count.

In the 27 innings so far in the series, two have ended with the Red Sox in the lead.

Of course, the ninth inning of Game 2 was huge.

Porcello needs a good start tomorrow

As much flak as he takes from us fans it is almost stunning how much this rotation depends on Porcello.

Wow two calls clearly in favor of the Ms there. Should have been 2-1 and the AB still going.

Gameday showed each pitch to Xander Bogaerts well within the strike zone.

I am reminded of a story by Tommy Lasorda. He asked Pedro Guerrero (a hack third baseman) what went through his mind while hunched over at the ''hot corner,'' Guerrero admitted he was thinking: ''Please don't hit the ball to me.'' And what was his second thought? ''Please don't hit it to Sax,'' a reference to Steve Sax, the second baseman who for a long time had problems making the short throw to first base.

How about protecting the plate with 2 strikes

Anybody know what happened to our celebrated starting pitching,

Maybe we should wait for them all to have, you know, a SECOND START before we start declaring them MIA.

I also think it might be time for Thunder GT mojo, which worked very well for us last season.

Rodriguez vs Leake

after last night dramatic win, I expect us to get on a roll.

I always expect or hope for the same, but so much for momentum.

I actually agree with this. It was Cora's plan to intentionally hold them back during ST and at the beginning of the season, preferring to keep the long term season goals in mind. All of his 'marathon' managing paid off last year. While the plan may have cost us a couple of early games, I suspect that Cora knows what he is doing.

You make a good point, but it could be argued that JD is the best hitter on the SOX.

Studies show that you put your best 3 hitters in the 1, 2, and 4 spots, with the OBP guys in the #1 and #2 holes, and the SLG guy in the #4 hole. That said, who goes where doesn't make enough of a difference to worry about.

That being the case, Beni and Betts should be placed where they feel most comfortable. If it turns out that Beni does not perform well leading off, and I'm not saying that that is or will be the case, then Cora should put him back to batting second.

That amazing starting pitching is falling flat first time though. It does happen, but a little letdown is also expected

At least we didn't lost to the Os at home.

I think xbo should have bunted to 3b.....

Good catch Slash..... which the Mariner 3rd baseman appeared incapable of making.

I was thinking the same thing. Funny how much great minds can be in sync with each other. ;)
