So, CC may be back by the end of April and Sev sometime in May.

Better not fall too far behind like in 2018.

Just another weak attempt at trolling.

On June 1st of last year the Yanks were 1 game back, hardly "too far behind".........

I hear another new rule MLB is considering is that if you're one game behind on June 1, you win the division....

I'm pretty sure we won the WS this afternoon 14-1. Suck it!

The Sox are just toying with you. They have the Yankees right where they want them.

He’s an outfielder tho (not a pitcher) so his rehab time should only be 7 days. You know cause he’ll “work harder”

I don't trust the Yankees anymore when it comes to revealing injuries. They constantly play off every injury like it's a minor thing.

Bird (ankle) - it was supposedly a bad bruise that would heal on its own but he needed surgery and wasted a whole season

Judge (wrist) - Boone said they saw him coming back after a couple of weeks but he missed two months

Hicks (back) - sore back that was supposedly nothing but now who the hell knows when he'll actually be back

I hope Sevy will be back by early May but knowing their inability to evaluate injuries makes me believe it will be later.

Florial with a non displaced wrist fracture. Kid is snakebit. He was really playing well this spring. Probably gonna be out 8 weeks

Florial was not making the cut anyway . He will just lose a little development time in the minors . The Yankees weakness is still just what it has been for a while . Starting pitching. While Paxton should help , I don't think Cashman has solved the problem as yet . I was not too impressed with what I saw from their young pitching prospects last year . They are going to have to rely on their slugging and their bullpen again.

Our weakness in the offseason was not starting pitching. I have said it a ton of times. Once we got Paxton and re-signed Happ, our rotation, on paper, outperformed yours last season. The problem now is spring training injuries. Severino is a big loss. He was our ace and a guy who finished in the top 10 in CY voting the last 2 years. You don't replace that in the spring, you replace that in the winter if at all. If he is really hurt and comes back either a shell of himself or not at all, then we have a huge hole to fill. If he returns healthy with his velocity intact, then we are good to go

Justus Sheffield has looked great for the Mariners in spring training--"nasty, nasty, and nasty":

PEORIA, Ariz. – Justus Sheffield’s search for the perfect pitch has been replaced by a new and more efficient approach.

The Yankees should have signed P.Corbin and kept Sheffield. Instead, by trading Sheffield for Paxton, the Yankees moved sideways and didn't improve the depth of their shaky starting rotation. To state the obvious, I would rather have Corbin and Sheffield than Paxton--two extremely talented pitchers are better than one extremely talented pitcher. Hal didn't go the extra mile for Yankees fans.

You are such a troll. You were the one saying Sheffield sucked and how the Yanks lost the Miller trade. Yet we deal him off for a lefty ace and now Sheffield is nasty. Go back under your bridge and wait for goats

This Gio deal is nuts. $3 mil to sign, opt out April 20th if not up with the big leaguers. $300K per start he makes in the majors. If he makes 23 starts for us, it’s a $10 mil deal. Surprised Cash went that high, unless they truly feel he’ll be elsewhere soon

MLBTR projected $24M/2.

If he starts 23, he'll be doing well enough to deserve the money.

Add another one to the list. Betances to start the year off on the IL due to shoulder inflammation.

This is becoming a nightmare

I bet Dellin wished he signed the extension offer now. Yeah, the injuries are piling up. This one we at least have the depth to absorb. Not worried about Hicks. Sevy and Betances are more worrisome since it’s a shoulder. We shall see. If I could take a deal of losing Betances but getting vintage Sevy back, I’d jump. Betances is probably out, best case, into June

Hopefully this doesn't turn into what happened with Kahnle. Now he's back to throwing like he was in 2017 but he was a nonfactor last year after his preseason shoulder injury (I think it was tendinitis).

Yanks sign Gio Gonzalez to a minor league deal that could be worth $3M if he is added to the roster.

I really like this deal for the Yankees.

I wish the Sox had done it.

Headline: Inflamed shoulder to send Yanks' Betances to IL

What's he doing in Chicago?

There was no need to cave to PC and rename the DL.

LOL I am having a hard time getting used to seeing IL as well.

I keep thinking it’s the International League. I keep wondering why all these players are being sent to AAA with injuries

Are you up to a full 25 man (IL) roster, yet?
