Recently acquired Cody Asche hit his first dinger in the top of the first against Trenton today. Dalbec has the day off so there may not be any other dingers for the SeaDogs to report.

Is it time yet for a little Marco Fever?

Funny how things come back around. I can remember a few years before our friend Moon was posting here, getting scalded for suggesting that Macro I felt would some day be able to help the big club. He stood out in Portland. Injuries have taken their toll, but the talent is still there. Good luck to him.

Ockimey with 3 BBs.

O Hernandez with 2 hits and 2BBs

Witte with the 3-run job.

Some guy named Marco Hernandez went 2 for 4.

Feltman lowered his ERA to 6.23 with 2 Ks and o ERs in 1 IP.

Duran goes 3 for 4 with a BB and a 2B. He's hitting .408 (1.024 OPS)

Fitzgerald went 4 for 5 with 3 rbi. He's upto .850 OPS.

Casas with his 7th dinger.

Minor Details: A home run explosion is happening in Triple-A for a very straightforward reason - they’ve started using big league balls. ‘It’s drastic.’

So.... time to curb the enthusiasm about Josh Ockimey?

Sean McAdam asked a Scout who's been Scouting our Double AA and Triple AAA teams.

His evaluation on Dalbec.

"I'm lower on him then most. His Balance is better, he has unbelievable Power and he's strong enough to hit it out in all Fields. But there are times-and I don't know if its (lack of pitch), recognition or what-that I don't see him making consistent, hard contact. It's very pull heavy and I just don't see him hitting enough. There's a lot of swing-and-miss on stuff that isn't quality. He's very streaky and can get hot. For me, is he Wily Mo Pena? He's a huge, physical guy that can throw. But, if he doesn't start hitting, the Defense isn't good enough to carry him. They're higher on him then a I am, and maybe I'm wrong. He'll get there (the Big Leagues), but I'm not sure of the impact. He's very streaky- he hit 5 HRS in 3 days, but then he'll go another couple of weeks before he hits another."

Lots of rainouts last night. DHern is continuing to struggle. Casas hit his ninth tater.

Per SoxProspects: Casas has been on an absolute tear in May, hitting .326/.398/.651 with seven home runs. You can make a strong case that he is the system's top prospect currently in the minors.

Going to Portland Game this morning against the Yard Goats. Get to see my kid Denyi Reyes pitch. Portland is 16-33 the Yard Goats are good, 29-22. We'll see how Mr. Dalbec is progressing. Facing a good Pitcher, Goudeau 3-2, 2.03 ERA. Edited by OH FOY!

Had to leave at the bottom of the 8th for work Portland leading 2-1, Reyes pitched a beauty 6 innings 1 hit, 7 K's. Dalbec got an RBI Double after striking out twice, Brian Johnson in the bottom of 7th, getting hit pretty hard. Looks like crap. I guess the Yard Goats just tied it off Johnson.

Casas had one regular tater, Durran had an inside the oven version.

Kyle Hart became the first pitcher in Triple-A to throw a nine-inning shutout this season as he stifled the IronPigs. Making his Triple-A debut, the 26-year-old left-hander allowed only five hits and struck out eight without walking a batter. Including his Double-A stats, Hart now has a 2.51 ERA and 68 strikeouts over 64 2/3 innings.

Signed for $5,000 as a 19th-round pick in 2016, Kyle Hart impressed in smaller sample sizes over his first two years in the system. 2018 was his first full season, and he logged 138 2/3 innings with Portland after not topping 100 innings in any previous season even going back to college. He predictably hit a wall in the middle of last season, but he was able to bounce back and pitch to a 2.06 ERA over his last 48 innings.

He carried that success forward to this season, where he has been arguably the top performing starter in the system, with Thaddeus Ward as his main competition. Hart has increased the usage of his slider and cutter this season, and that has allowed his strikeouts per nine innings to jump from 6.49 in 2018 to 9.46 in 2019.

2 HRS for Dalbec yesterday, last HR for him was 9 games ago (25 AB's), and little slump for Duran, last 10 games only hitting .351.

Here's something funny, last 10 games for Dalbec, he has 42 AB's, with 0 BB's. Must swing at everything. Don't like this tells me he's not a selective hitter. When I saw him the other day, he struck out on Pitches that were not strikes, 2 times.

Gorkys, Witte and Ockimey had taters for PAW yesterday. Corcino and Matheny also found taters.

Despite a slow start to the season Matheny has come alive as of late, notching nine hits in his last five games including all four of his home runs thus far in 2019. The 2015 fourth-round draft pick has steadily climbed the ladder in the Red Sox system, and will look to build on his string of strong performances as the summer approaches.

Looks like everyone has pumped the brakes on Feltman and for good reason. The guy cannot throw strikes. 15BB in 19IP with a 6.05ERA. This is why you need development plus talent.

Lol he's a kid he's fine
