Price said throwing all those warmup pitches the night before actually seemed to make him feel better last night.

So on top of a great game, maybe he learned something useful about his preparation.

Hope so. The Sox are going to need him and who knows how healthy Sale is.

I think he said he figured something out mechanically, not that he felt better because of working out.

There's so much more to baseball that we commoners have no idea of. These guys are professionals and they have professional coaches working with them. Tiny nuances that we don't even see can make a big difference in their performance.

Whether he actually found something or he just thinks he did doesn't matter - it made a difference.

WORLD SERIES Game 1

Houston 4

Boston 8

Pitching:

Sale FB was in the 92 range with occasional blips to 95. the problem was he couldnt locate it. 91 pitches to get into the 4th and he got the hook. 3ER / 2BB / 7k. a good line for 6 or 7 ip. not 4. we needed our pen to step up.

Barnes with an OK 5th

Kelly with a lights out 6th

this is where it got interesting. Braz struggled in the 7th and with the bases loaded and clinging to a 1 run lead Cora went to Erod to get the final out of the inning.

Evoldi with a nice 8th

Leprechaun with a 1,2,3 9th. exactly what we needed to see.

Hitting:

came out guns blazing with knocks from Betts (who promptly stole 2b to get everyone on the planet a free taco), beni, and JD to get us 2 quick runs.

Beni goes 4 for 5.

devers with a couple of great AB's.

Cora pulling the trigger at the perfect time and nunez with a 3 run bomb in the 7th to seal the W turning a 1 run game into a 4 run cushion.

not to go unnoticed: Leon with 2 knocks.

Defense:

no errors. of note: Sandy blocked a ball that squirted far enough away to move runners up which allowed a run to score on a Machado groundout.

Xander with a nice play in the 5.5 hole and strong throw to first to get a big 3rd out. no double clutch and strong throw. learned his lesson from the ALCS not to mess around in the postseason.

8 down, 3 to go......

WORLD SERIES Game 2

Houston 2

Boston 4

Pitching:

David Price with a fantastic 6 innings. 1 blip in the 4th allowing 2 runs but he minimized the damage and was lights out the other 5 innings. Plus he was getting squeezed so this start really could have been even more better.

7th inning. The Terminator aka Joe Kelly aka Joe Kelly Fight Club. Perfect inning.

8th inning. Evo. Perfect inning

9th inning. Leprechaun. Perfect inning. Game over.

Hitting:

We struggled vs Ryu but did enough of our 2 out magic to plate 4.

JD f***ing Martinez is an assassin. Huge 2 out 2 run rbi to give us the lead.

Vaz with a big hit to start the rally.

Defense:

Devers played an AWESOME 3rd base with a couple great plays (most notably on the bunt) and also made all the regular plays.

Cora pushes all the right buttons again.

9 down, 2 to go.....
