And the run scores from the error on a 2 out, 2 strike count as usual. Where was Beni playing on that AB by Stanton, took awhile to get to the ball but with Gradner running , Beni's weak arm wasn't getting him.

Beni visibly trying to go to left and visibly trying to beat the shift. I like that from him. He is not some monster HR hitter and he is not going to be.

I know the stats generally are saying otherwise, but can't get away from the feeling that JDM is not hitting near as well lately with men on base. He was lethal pre A-S break and has racked up big numbers but just not seeing him as the gamewrecker right now

JD appears to have a little bit of the Green Monster in his head. He was taking many more of those sliders moving away to RF earlier in the season and he is getting handled by them more often now, trying to pull the ball over the Monster. The Monster giveth and the Monster taketh away.

Ya I’ve noticed this as well. I think it happens quite often with players when they start to cool off a bit. It goes to their head. Hopefully come playoffs it will light a spark under him. Not too worried about him yet.

Bradley strong 2nd half continues. If he hits for a .800 OPS with his defense he can earn a pay day.

Focusing on going oppo probably saved his career. He was well on the way to defensive specialist-ville at the rate he was going.

If anyone here is really confident the SOX will make it thru the 1st round, please send me whatever you're smoking.

If all you ever look at is a team's most recent record or performance level, then you'd be a bad gambler. Trust me, I tried that theory out and lost big time.

We have a top 3-4 offense, defense, and pitching. Our base running has dramatically improved and our manager is light years better than NY's.

The only area we look weaker in is with the pen, but it's not like NY's has been great in recent weeks- you choice of time frame to judge by.

I don't need a big spleef to see the writing on the wall.

I feel bad for fans that are so pessimistic. This isn't the Sox team of the 70's and 80's.

Other teams have way more players struggling or dealing with recovering from injuries, but you only focus on ours.

Maybe you need a couple bong hits of some primo green bud.

Yup.

Thing is that in recent weeks we have played relaxed, while resting people and without an urgency of winning. Our 2018 ridiculous season allows you this.

Said that, You’ll see this team playing close to and probably better from what we saw in the season.

I cant believe people are not worried about this team. They have played mediocre baseball and have taken the foot of the gas pedal. If they flame out i better see a lot of changes. Can’t keep losing when it counts.

I don’t believe in that. You can’t turn the switch on and off. Yankees have embarrassed this team. They better not flame out otherwise there should be big changes in the offseason.

Maybe because this group has accomplished nothing in the postseason. I don’t care about regular season wins. I have seen 186 wins the last two years and one playoff win in total.

If this team were playing in winning mode I would agree with you.

Thing is, they aren’t... so I expect they play better in PO, not because I want it to happen but because is simply common sense.

Looks like we may well be the Yankees bitches again this year. The Sox look lifeless and if they get swept by the Yankees in this series it will not do well for their psyche.

Look at the pitchers the Yankees are using in this game. Does it tell you anything about whether they care about winning or losing it?

Bull. The outcome of this series means zip. Both teams are using a motley crew of pitchers today.
