Rumor has it that the Guardians are looking to trim payroll and that they will listen to offers on Kluber and Carrasco.

They will be asking a LOT for those two, don't know if Cashman will be wailing to meet the price

Understood, but they are legit TOR starters, something the Yanks desperately need.

I know, but both are in the wrong side of 30 and Carrasco missed some serious time in the past due to injuries, not sure this is the way I want to spend the depth in the farm

Trade Hicks, Green, Loaisiga, and Holder for Carrasco.

Guardians can plug Hicks in CF, Green into the set up role to Hand or even the closer spot. Holder fits in nicely into their bullpen. and Loaisiga goes right into depth.

That’s a crazy amount for a 32 yr old injury prone right handed power pitcher

I have the feeling the Guardians will be asking for more than that

Either way, Cashman said he is looking for “multiple” pitchers.

He is also said to be wanting a reunion with CC. I’d only be ok with CC as a #5 starter. Anything more and I’m not ok. I’d rather we just cut bait on him, but so be it

How? How do you ask for a 4 WAR CFer, a top flight reliever, an up and coming top flight reliever and a top 100 prospect for a 32 yr old oft injured pitcher? That makes no sense

I was wondering how long it would take for a Yankee fan to respond.

Gotta love this from Cashman:

Cashman said the Yankees feel no urgency to make a quick splash to steal the spotlight from the Red Sox in the wake of their championship.

"The Red Sox winning doesn't change the hunger level of trying to deliver a championship, sooner than later, for our fan base," Cashman said. "They're getting a championship-caliber effort regardless of the results. With that being said, we're going to continue with the processes that served us well and put us in a position to be contenders again and dream big.

"Ultimately, we're going to continue to apply that process and see if it comes to the conclusion we're all looking for, which is a championship. The hunger and the effort and the passion is there, despite the horrible outcome that took place in the World Series this year."

 The guys who posted on this page are all Yankee fans.

Yes, plus you and I. I just thought it took a long time for someone to respond.

I'm not here every day, so sometimes it takes me a while to respond.

And many times someone else has responded to it with a similar thought to mine.

Not really, about 1300 innings, far less than Kershaw and, surprisingly, less than sale.

Those 2 are some of the great "innings eaters" in MLB, it doesn't mean that Kluber is on the clear with his workload

Meh is a great poster here, but that’d be a crazy overpay

I think CC v2 would be a huge addition to this team and Jon Gray. Guardians will want a lot. Hicks has one year left and is often injured too. Maybe it is an overpay, with the bullpen arms. I kind of figured the regression on the bullpen tax in trades has worn off. I would stay far away from Kluber though.

I have said many times that I wanted to move on from CC. The only way I'd be ok with CC is as a 5th starter. On a 1 yr $8 mil deal, it isn't much to swallow if father time or the buffet finally catches up to him. But he cannot and should not be considered anything more than the #5. Right now, I look at the rotation as such

1. ??

2. Tanaka

3. Severino

4. ??

5. Sabathia

I like Kluber too, not sure for how long will be effective, a lot miles in that arm

The Yankees would only need him to be effective for 3 more years. Since his AAV in that time is only $9.3mill, it’s not even debilitating if he isn’t.

To me, the big question is, will Cashman be willing to meet the asking price, which will rival the one Boston paid for Sale? I’d expect at minimum, Sheffield, another top 5 prospect (Flovial?) from the NYY farm, and another prospect that Cleveland likes.

Would Cashman pull a trigger on that deal? Or will he be stupid?

True, but Kluber certainly has a much more athletic build than sale, and his innings pitched are not much different than the free agent options out there aside from Corbin.

I don’t want Kluber. Too old to throw big prospects at. Corbin just makes too much sense

But we need 2 starters, just Corbin ain't gonna cut it. Obviously Happ is another option as well.

But Kluber is a stud, nobody else in the free agent market comes close.

Yanks are “interested” in an Andrew Miller reunion

That would be great, I love the guy and he loved to play for us
