Nola is probably the best pitcher the SOX have faced so far this year. His stats don't lie. He throws an easy 95mph.

Easy 95? I was looking at his graphs and it shows below 80. They have it wrong then.

Nellie Fox, Rod Carew, Ty Cobb, Hunter Pence, Joey Votto, Barry Bonds----and yes Bucky Dent all were or are choke-up hitters. There were many more in bygone days but there are a few today who occasionally do and Pence and Votto often do.

Maybe this is what we need tonight.

No idea how you hit that pitch.

We likely might see this type of pitching in the playoffs. Sooner or later gotta find a way and hit tough pitching.

Where is the aggressive hitting Betts lately? Watch a couple of sucker pitches down the pipe for strikes.

Saw that, one breaking ball, followed by a medium FB down the pipe. Maybe not familiar with Nola and was guessing too much

I agree that we will see consistently better pitching in the post season than we ever were going to see in this particular regular season. Nola is kinda' unique though. That Slurve is not something you see too often. Nola is just showing the FB. He has not even thrown that for strikes at 93+ and he isn't throwing his Change that much YET. If his Change is even decent ....good night. We have to hope that Slurve flattens out. We are not going to hit it if he keeps throwing it like that.

Yankees just got Lance Lynn....there are there two needed SPs.

Unfortunately for the Yankees Lynn has an ERA over 5 this year with a WHIP of over 1.6.
