Very true. But he's also not as good as some people make him out to be.

I'm not disagreeing with you but there have been plenty (many more than one) of people here who continue to give this man no real credit for being an average defender out there. I'm not sure who you mean SS by some people. On this forum for the most part it would be me. I've never even suggested that he is better than average. What I have said is that he does not hurt us in the outfield. I'll stand by that as well as stating how I feel about anyone who loves the defensive metrics so much that they are willing to not accept the fact that he hasn't been bad at all out there for us. I'm not suggesting that you do that but there are people that do.

Price had a huge game !!

It was nice to see Price pitch a shutout. Exactly what he and the team needed.

That was the longest 1-0 game I think I've ever seen. Way too tense for me. LOL

With all of the ugliness in that game, I can't believe the Tigers weren't able to score a run.

A 1-0 game shows me how good a team really is. It tells me they are focused. Anything can happen in these games, and might not be Players fault, and you can lose. Bad breaks happens. Stopping the Bad Breaks from scoring or hurting, means team is more determined, and mentally tough.

My point of view in games like this is that it boils down to randomness or luck more than anything else.

If that's the case every game is like this. Luck, and randomness.

If the Sox won that game because they were more determined or more mentally tough, then why is it that they were only able to score 1 run off of a far inferior team?

Having a lights out closer tends to enhance the randomness a bit.

That's true. You have to credit Hembree and Barnes with getting 5 outs as well.
