And its time to just say it because it is too obvious for me to let just go by. It should be clear at this point that the Sox previous issues with getting a tag down were for the most part due to Farrell not doing anything about it. Last couple years, this team could not tag my grandmother without screwing it up somehow. This season, game after game, especially from mid-May on, tag after tag has been very well executed all over the diamond.

Agree. He has a presence back there; he’s running the game. Vazquez has more talent but he never looks in charge.

Last night POR drove in 3 runs; tonight Nunez drives in 3 runs. Not dissing Nunez, but that is pretty strange.

I had this whole baseball thing figured out yesterday. I had an epiphany and it all came to me. I knew all, past, present and future.

I should have pointed out from my last post about the Sox and tagging runners out that if either of my grandmothers (God love them) were trying to run the bases they would have to be carting this big granite slab around the bases with them and the 2016-2017 Sox would STILL have had trouble getting a successful tag down on them.

Johnson gets a 3 inning shutout so far, on 43 pitches. Wonder if Joe Kelly, Matt Barnes, David Price, Erod are tuned into NESN so they can see how a guy with limited talent and basic a junkball repertoire gets it done. Granted he is up against a .500 team that is declining but all the Nationals still belong to the MLBPA.

 

I bet Pomeranz's 4 HR's allowed for Pawsox last night got DD excited.

Mitch hurt himself flagging down Devers off target throw and twisting back fast to tag the base. Devers then watches 2 good pitches go past him with 2 on and no outs. Free swinger, no way. But he's young and it is early
