Also, lets not forget one of the MVP's of this game, Brian Johnson, he really saved the game by pitching 2.2 shutout innings after Wright s*** the bed.

Come and be prepared to play

Eduardo Nunez comes through as well.. What an offensive output tonight.

Sorry! My wife just yelled at me.... but he still has the ugliest girlfriend in mlb.

We met them in Seattle. So unbelievably nice!!!! Great people! But, she was stunningly ugly for an mlb girlfriend.

I was worried that JD had banged into a DP onbthat last hit. There wasn’t a lot of room between those middle infielders. We benefited from some randomness there. And randomness can result in a 4-5 run win just as much as it can in 1 run games.

The Shadow knows, but he's not on the SOX medical staff.

ahahah...... you're from another planet...... I love it.

This is the best game of the season so far, bad pitching and all. Nice to see a comeback like this, feels like it's been a while.

Well said coach well said !! Loving this night

Some like to knock Nunez as if he is a failed case at 2B. He has outdone what the Sox were looking for in a utility/bench player, when the main guy just can't heal 8 months after his procedure. EN is giving the moneysworth.

Cannot wait to see how Kelly deals with this situation. Anything short of shutdown and he will be a major disappointment. And kimbrel needs to go in the 9th to se what he is made of.

I'd almost forgotten that Wright started this game. It's almost like having Wakefield back. Some pitchers are okay, some are good, and some are bad. Then there are knuckleballers, who are somehow all three at once. An equal chance of 8IP 0ER 2H 0BB and 4K or 2IP 9ER 13H 7BB 0K

Max, this is an example of a game where the players pick up the manager. The 2013 team picked up for dumbass Farrell mistakes very often. If we had lost this one,it would have been squarely on Cora. He still has a chance to blow it.

Man your absolutely right that guy saved it .

Also Wright gave up 10ER and his ERA still isn't horrendous. It's not great either, but it's not ugly.

3.38 is still pretty damn good, especially for a #5 starter. I had a feeling a game like this was coming, not 10 runs obviously, but knuckleballers are always prone to a few games where they just get hammered.

I was glad we picked him up!!!!

Unfortunately, he is hobbled. Noticeable limp in person.

The funny thing is that we were talking a couple pages ago about that Texas game, which was also a double-digit game for both teams that was started by a Red Sox knuckleballer who gave up 10 runs.

EDIT: I was wrong, I thought it was 10, it was only 8.
