He's 23 and last year as a rookie he was 2d on the team in rbi's and total bases--oh, and stolen bases.

This year with a much better lineup--2d best in MLB--he is only 5th in total bases and 6th in rbi's, but is 2d in runs scored and leads in stolen bases. Tonight he has been terrific on the basepaths--getting extra bases and even stealing one. He is a pretty fair leftfielder who can also play CF. The coaches all say he has a good swing.

He is not only playing for about $500K a year, but will do so for years to come.

He's a poof hitter period dude is an idiot on the base paths and his baseball IQ is debatable ...id trade Benny for a snickers bar .

They just have to get on him about letting that swing get so big. Thats all. JBJ is another story

yea OK OB..."Barnes came through". The Jays got themselves out. All they had to do was not lift the bat off their shoulders.

What was this Hanley play that cost the Sox a run? I just got home and have only seen the 10th inning.

He was on first base when JD hit a drive that bounced off the RF wall with two outs. The ball bounced away from the OFers and Hanley, thinking it was a HR all the way, jogged from first to second. Once he realized it wasn't a HR he turned on the jets, running through a stop sign by the 3B coach. Out at the plate.

I would put money down that Benny will end the year with an OPS of at least .780.

Hard hit ny JD. Hanley on first thought he would easily get three. Kind off jogged, then saw he maybe could get home and starting running full out. 3rd base called for him to stop, Hanley ran through sign. Gunned down in close play. It wasn't a good look for Hanley.

Even if the Sox don't score here they are going to have to come with kimbrel just to prevent another walkathon

We have at least two guys from the left and sometimes three when devers is not hitting that are making things tough. Beni's swing is way too big with his hands outside the ball. JBJ simply loses sight of the ball the deeper it gets in the zone. No head discipline.

Are you really unaware that this offense is the 2d best in MLB and way better than last year? You are making it sound as though no one can hit. At all. Ever. Lighten up, francis.

i think Benny is over-blown. He's good, maybe very good, but he's not great, and I don't think he ever will be great.

His extra bulk hasn't had any results, but a good mythical hot streak could change my mind.

Hitters go through streaks. Beni and JBJ happen to be on bad streaks which makes sense based on how they are swinging at the moment. Vaz is as well. The top of the order is pretty hot except for beni and the bottom can't seem to buy a hit. Just the way it is dude.
