4/28 Rays at Fenway

Well April is almost over and the Sox only have a 3 game lead in the division and the best record in the majors. I think it might be time to hit the panic button. Pomeranz has only pitched two games coming off of the DL and neither one was very, very good so obviously we should dissect him for parts. Sale and Porcello are pitching very well, E-Rod has been steady and Price has his good days and bad days, and I see no alternative but to blow up the team. I don't mean trade everyone and bring up a bunch of minor leaguers, I mean literally blow it all up. A tactical nuclear warhead right under the pitching mound at Fenway. Wipe 'em all out, they all suck.

 

Seriously though. This sucks, but the fact is there was no way the Sox were going to continue winning 8 or 9 games at a time while only losing one in between streaks indefinitely. There are going to be bad stretches, series will be lost, but they haven't been swept yet, and they've only lost two series, including this one. Everyone needs to stop acting like the sky is falling.

Its not just Price ...Sale in his last start was getting shelled and his slider was hanging in the zone again like late last year ...Porcello has been good and Velazquez a stud but Pomeranze ???? This is an extremely shaky team ...they live and die with Sale and Price ....either both these pitchers Hold it together or this team will be ugly to watch all year .I personally blame the Catchers calling these games and the pitching coaches for not doing there jobs equally and should not be overlooked .

 

Have you actually watched a season of baseball before? I mean no one who has actually watched more than a couple of season acts this spazzed out. Holy crap are you annoying....... you are pink hat material at best with your spazzed out, why don't we win every game crap. Glad you love you home team, but it doesn't give you a "pass go and get out of being stupid" card.

Through the first 19 games the Sox were an astonishing--no other word for it--17-2.

 

Through the last 7 games the Sox are 2-5 and by the end of today will have lost two of three series. Beat the Jays at Toronto and lost to the Athletics at Oakland and the Rays at Fenway, where a sweep is now possible. Oakland beat us with pitching, and the Rays with hitting, lots and lots of hitting. The Sox have lost exactly one game this season by 4 or more runs, and last night was the game and Price was on the mound for the first half of it.

 

To me all of the above is fodder for moonslav's thread on a realistic view of 2018, part deux.

Agreed! The fans, after being pretty good, now suck just as they sucked after game 1, or maybe as bad as they sucked when Grady Little left Pedro in, or perhaps when the ball went to Buckner, or like when Yaz came up in the winner take all game against Goose ...
