That's alright. Hanley and JD don't seem to be bothered by the temperatures. He's forgetting both teams are playing in the same damn weather conditions.

JD is strong. It is cold, damp and windy and that would be 20 rows over the bullpen in July.

i think Betts is out of the game

f***. Hopefully its not serious.

Could not agree more! You have to be one strong SOB to do what Martinez just did. Not only that but temperatures today do not help when you're trying to do yard the opposite way.

I think a lot of these injuries are enhanced by the cold temps early on. It's not to say these injuries aren't serious but I think taking out these players are more precautionary than anything else.

This may be hopeful, but I'm assuming since Mookie stayed in the game two innings and had an AB that it cant be too serious, lets hope anyway.

Good job working around trouble by Velazquez.

I agree. There's nothing flashy about him but he understands how to work the zone. It's quite clear he doesn't like to place the same pitch in the same spot twice in a row and that is a huge deal and that's where Velazquez is doing such a nice job.

Eck is constantly talking about the amount of hair a pitcher has on his fastball but when Holt was able to unload his throw to 1B he had some serious hair on it too.

What I like about him is he doesn't panic, even in tough/big situations, he stays calm and doesn't get wild. I think the Sox have found a very solid pitcher, especially as a bottom of the rotation/long reliever guy.

Yup. Betts out. Not good! That slide looked really bad.
What did the announcers think about the positioning of the Oriole catcher on Betts slide. People around me thought that he was blocking Betts’ path without the ball.

The Orioles announcer thought it would've been called interference had Betts been out on the play.

Absolutely! If he can keep up his stability, he's going to have a constant spot with the Red Sox whether it's as a starter or out of the bullpen. He got some good work in last season and it's helped carry over into this season.
