Can take some positives from this season. Devers will be a special player. This team needs another big time bat.

Outside of game 3 the offense just couldn't generate much of anything this series. Brutal.

This game was all about late inning failures. The sox entered the 8th up a run and end up allowing 3 to score over the final six outs with the likely CY runner up and Fireman of the Year throwing. The Stros earned it, but the sox big guys choked. The managing was awful. Kimbrel had nothing, and should have been on a tight leash after allowing the game to be untied. He never should have faced Beltran. The late hook cost the sox their season.

Well, if you can't use your best players except in hand-picked situations, that's on the players, not the manager. Didn't seem to bother Sale to come in in a "non-start situation"; it shouldn't have bothered Kimbrel to come in in the 8th.

This. With a decent and not having an inconsistent offense we would have tied this series today. Glad they came back and didn't go quiet but sucks losing such a close game.

I don't understand why they kept kimbrel in the game when he clearly was struggling. It's a game of inches.

It boils down to we had bases loaded with nobody out. Had we even got a couple runs out of that we win this game. The bats were hitting today but in the end produced very little for how many runners we had on base. The pitching wasn't great but the offense killed us by generating nothing out of the bases loaded situation. Of course Kimbrel didn't help. It is what it is we lost a competitive game but we had our chances.
